Hi Amazing what is now on the net in public domian. cheers Jerry

Hi reading further it seems aircraft 'pre mod 850' starting controls may have needed an accumalator.as the starter switches are in the undercarriage, aircraft with 'mod 850', the pilot has the starter buttons on the instrument panel. sorry for any confusion, but the manual is 450 pages long. cheers Jerry

Hi just to update,on the battery location, from the maintenance manual.. ..... two 12 volt 40 amp hour accumulators, connected in series, are mounted on trays, immediately behind the front spar on the port side of the fuselage... in another section it mentions there are crates covering the accumalators. Sorry but there are no drawings.. cheers Jerry

Hee Hee, i am slowly waking up. If you want a copy of the manual PM me your e mail address. cheers jerry

Hi All, Having waited and decided the new airfix invincible is out of my modelling budget for this year, I searched e bay for a cheap 1:700 model, and there are a few about, probably due to the 1:350 release. I have got a dragon ark royal for about $10, but would prefer to do an invincible, anyone know what changes are required. cheers jerry

Hi quote from the pilots notes for the MKVI, Electrical Services. a 24 volt dc generator on the starboard engine in parallel with a battery supplies current for :- ......... Engine starters ( and booster coils when fitted ) ........ So batteries were fitted and possibly were used for engine starting. never noticed before but the generator on the port engine is 80 volt AC. ( interesting as if this engine stops it appears the radio will be dead ) If no one else finds anything, later today I will check my files on my back up drive, I have two full maintenance manuals for the beaufighter so there should be something there about where the battery is fitted, maybe even a drawing. Cheers Jerry P.S. Dooh... Man ... am I getting computer operator error today, mind you it is only 8am here.

Hi Nick, thanks for posting the info about hyperscale, great info & pic cheers Jerry
-
Hi With the scale of the model,1:350, the missing tiles, might be best reproduced by just simulating them with different colour paint. Cheers Jerry
-
Hi, As I understand it, the propulsors were regularly changed and varied in design, so there is no standard one. I have the bronco vanguard, nice kit, and cheap off e bay I did not know there was an astute coming out, maybe interesting. cheers Jerry
-
Hi Yeah thats today's problem. higher shipping costs ... and with fewer local model shops,it all restricts the modelling. Thanks for the link. cheers Jerry
-
Hi I have two on the way from wonderland models who I think had 10% off ? Which helped a little to offset the horrendous shipping charges to canada, not wonderlands fault. Lets hope for somemore types.. Conqueror, Superb, Revenge... I would like to build one of each class I worked on as a dockyardie. Cheers Jerry

Hi I thought revell were bringing out a 1/32 HE-111P, for October...... or has this changed. If so the release of the 1/32 kit will explain the re release of HE-111 & V1 in 1/48th. Cheers Jerry 04696 Heinkel He 111 P Scale 1:32 Release date 10/2010 No. of parts 250 Length 513 mm Wingspan 706 mm Skill Level 3

What's the best BP Defiant reference by any chance?
brewerjerry replied to Dave Pratt's topic in Aircraft WWII
Hi, If you are stuck for reference, I live in Van, and I have three of the books. cheers Jerry -
Hi All, After a bit of web surfing I was able to find the answer, via this link, http://www.ipmsusa2.org/Reviews/Kits/First...0_liverpool.htm It states... Dragon has issued five separate kits of Type 42 ships: Sheffield, Exeter, Manchester, York and Liverpool. Skywave issued the Sheffield, Manchester and York from which Dragon's molds came from. Revell Germany also uses the same molds for kits of the Sheffield, Manchester and Exeter. Cheers jerry

British Aircraft Carrier 1/600-1/700 model list
brewerjerry replied to Chally2's topic in General Maritime modelling chat
Hi Curiosity, could this be used as a basis for a conversion to a 1982 hermes, or is it easier to scratchbuild one. cheers Jerry -
Hi Nice builds , I got one for last christmas, a sort of reminder for my days a dockie in the devonport submarine refit complex. I hope to get around to building it this winter, along with a few other projects, one long term one is to do a 1:350 V&C , S or T class hunter killer, or possibly scratch build if I really have no choice. Out of curiosity does anyone do a 1:700 Vanguard, as most of my sub stash is 1:700. Cheers Jerry

1/192 scale 'scratch' HMS Intrepid
brewerjerry replied to fatty's topic in Maritime Cold War to 1990
Hi Excellent post, and lucky find, Please keep us updated with your progress,I am interested in doing hermes, and your build is giving me ideas. It is amazing what is left on board ship,I remember when I was a dockie in devonport, the odd things we would find when starting a refit, one item I recall someone found was a guitar. I hope after finishing the model you do not throw away the plans,if disposing of them, I am sure the IWM would love them. Cheers Jerry -
Hi All, My first post in this section as I never realised it was here. I have a Smars 1:700 type 42, which appears to be identical to the revell 1:700 type 42. Does anyone know what all the spare parts on the sprues are for, is it to make the later batches. I have a dragon hms exeter due soon and wondered if it is also the same mould. Cheers Jerry

More Interesting Spitfires with Type 'B' roundels
brewerjerry replied to Dave Fleming's topic in Aircraft WWII
Hi Thanks for posting the link to the photos, very interesting, I wish the UK museum would do something similar with their archive collections........ It still seems there are still many non standard schemes out there, yet to be modelled. cheers Jerry -
Hi I am glad i posted the link to the photo seems to have started the curiosity, apologies if i have diverted this thread. I like the theory of a paint repair, but then why not use the correct camo paint colour for the area of the repair ? seems odd they are all the same different colour. cheers Jerry
