  2. Hi All, Thanks for the suggestions, I have just bought a falcon set on e bay, shold be easier than me trying to make a canopy. cheers Jerry
  3. Hi Well i finally got hold of a lodela 1:32 beaufighter, (revell kit), but it also has modelcraft and limited edition on the box. I now just have to wait for the postie to bring it up from the US. So anyone know what it is like, are the vacform bits, etc, OK. And what are the RAAF decals for, does the kit make an RAAF version as well ? cheers Jerry
  4. Hi A random thought, but if you warmed the joint, would the plastic bend to give horizontal tailplanes. I have never tried this..... cheers Jerry p.s. just remembered the old frog kit gave both tailplane options, and should be a cheap buy. http://modelingmadness.com/scotts/allies/gb/fbeaupreview.htm
  5. Hi Try a search at the website below, or a request there if nothing is found. cheers jerry http://www.luftwaffe-experten.org/forums/index.php?
  6. Hi Thanks for the reply, I thought after buying the matchbox halifax, it might have been a brain not engaged before mouse klicking. yep i had good service form airfix quite some time back, so perhaps just unlucky now.. Looks like it maybe eventually plan B...and one more kit in the stash.. cheers jerry
  7. Hi yep a nice build i agree. a bit odd on the moulding, i think yep, looks more like a metal diecast, the panel lines and panel fasteners seem oversize, a link to a photo a different mark, but look at the difference. http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs31/f/2008/215...y_Sceptre63.jpg But then personally i think all the panel line etc, stuff has gone a bit extreme, recently on most models. I remember an old airifx mag article, basically it went .... if the kit is 1:72, what would you see comparing the model with a real aircraft at the same scale distance. If it is not visible at 6 feet away on the real a/c, should it not be visible at 1" from the model ? likewise at 24 feet away ......at 4 " away ...... But ......thanks to airfix for another new model kit..... cheers Jerry
  8. Hi All, Anyone know if there was any difference between the Mk III and MK II, cockpit canopies. I tried airfix twice for a replacement but no luck so far, so I have a matchbox halifax coming via e bay, and intend to use the canopy as a pattern to make a replacement for the airfix one, but suddenly wondered if there was a difference between marks. cheers Jerry
  9. Hi Think some confusion here, i am refering to spitfire IIc, not seafire IIc cheers Jerry
  10. Hi I have just got a copy of the airfix magazine conversion,I will look tonight to see what other props might fit. ( I have a matchbox lanc missing a prop, so I thought I would convert it, to a manchester but by the old airfix methods ) cheers Jerry
  11. Hi Thinking whatif.... A spitfire with 40mm cannon under the wings, could look quite good. cheers Jerry
  12. Hi Some had the machine gun 'a' wing, some had the cannon 'b' wing, even thou' all refered to as Spifire IIc. cheers Jerry
  13. Hi just to throw in an oddball.. the spitfire IIc fits in nowhere with the armament theories. cheers Jerry
  14. Hi thanks for posting the info. interestingly apparently HJ762 & HJ673 were both W/O when with 60 SAAF at Luqa 13 july 1943. cheers Jerry

  19. Hi i always like the little details in these type of photos, like the 'erk' with A Flt on the back of his overalls. I just wish flight would upload some more photos from the archive... never happy me.... cheers Jerry
  20. Hi I loved that series as a kid, i looked forward to each months installment, then eventually bought the book,a real good starting point,It got me into searching local records for squadron code information ( police war diaries, etc) I also eventually bought combat codes, real good as well, but there are still a few code additons to be done to it. It would be nice if there was an online source for all the codes. cheers Jerry
  21. Hi Well I too, vote hampden and if you want something different do the one captured by the luftwaffe, there are photos around and i have even seen a still from film footage. The excellent LEMB website should have enough details, in the captured section. cheers jerry
  22. Hi All, I am doing my first MPM kit, a XF5F-1 Skyrocket, not quite what i expected, but then i suppose to be fair it is my first 'limited run' kit. Anyone else done one yet ? To me everything is very chunky, Cutting parts of sprues, etc, and the fit is not what i would call excellent, I will be using a bit of filler, is this the same on all kits of this type ? or is me just clicky handed ? I must admitt thou' it is far easier than a vacuform, but not as easy as a mainstrean injection kit. cheers Jerry
  23. Hi according to wonderland models website it is in stock at a 10% discount price of 12.57 Gbp cheers jerry http://www.wonderlandmodels.com/products/i...nier-do-217m-1/
  24. Hi A merlin version would be nice as would a radial halifax, then there would be some decent cheap engines to convert the revell lanc to a MKII cheers Jerry
