Hi I would imagine so, although increasing the rate/pressure of supply should cover it, but the tanks would empty quicker. Current safety regs at a major employer state that you can't have a beard and wear a face mask, great for me as I never had to visit the site, another tech always went. cheers Jerry

Hi A Czech pilot at exeter had a beard, apparently, I was told, that in kings regulations it was permitted in the RAF to request from the king, permission to have a beard. I must admitt, I wrongly assumed when I first saw photos of pilots with beards, that they were possibly SOE. ( ...Dooh.... ) Cheers Jerry

Hi ORB only shows serials so this maybe a difficult one to find.. cheers Jerry

Hi The book is very good, but it too is not complete, (I am waiting hoping for a new version to come out one day...) However is the best I have seen available so far, and I have ,along with a few other squadron code books. cheers Jerry

Hi Any chance you could tell me what is in the centre of the fin flash on the decals for AH791 RM-E ? The temporary excercise markings are great, First time i have seen these on a kit,I will have to think of getting one of these myself. I know what you mean about eyesight, I am now moving more towards 1:48 and 1:32 ...( and the ladies all look more pretty each day)..... Cheers Jerry

BoB He 111 from 48th scale Monogram kit.......?
brewerjerry replied to Chris Preston's topic in Aircraft WWII
Hi I think from memory the monogram is an H-4, which is very similar to the BoB versions, but I think the only real difference externally was the H-4 was able to carry external stores. There are probably some experts here who are able to tell more. I have a couple of PDF he-111 manuals that may help if you want to go deep on the build, just PM me. cheers Jerry -
Hi a search here may bring something of interest cheers Jerry http://www.flightglobal.com/pdfarchive/vie...?search=bristol hercules

whriwlind fighter moulded in colour plastic ?
brewerjerry replied to brewerjerry's topic in Aircraft WWII
Hi All, Thanks for the replies, some interesting leads,I have bilek, but they are grey, but it still could be them,I know an italian firm, polisti ?, did a re-pop but i don't know what colour it was, I don't have toltoys NZ one. cheers Jerry -
Hi All, New to me but others will probably know more I hope. I have just obtained two whirlwind kits, one is the first release style but it is moulded in black plastic, and the other is the later style but moulded in a bright green plastic. I previously have only seen silver (old) or grey (new) plastic colour whirlwinds, anyone know which years Airfix did these and/or why ? Or are they a re pop by another firm. cheers Jerry
-
Hi As I remember I have never seen it exactly tied down to particular code/serial combination. I must admitt it is one line of research on the whirlwind, that I never really followed, although I assume it to be a 263Sqn machine, due to the guy who used to do these type of markings was on the squadron, almost all of the photos I have seen with markings have been nose shots, apart from the 'hitler in a gallows' whirlwind. Cheers Jerry

Hi Thanks I didn't know about this, it could be an option. cheers Jerry

Hi All, I am thinking way ahead to autumn for my first jet in a long time. I have argentine decals and want to do a b.2, what are the options, I am on a limited hobby budget, due to the current economic climate. The airfix b.2 seems non existant, can the airfix rb-57 be converted back to a b.2, or would an old frog 'type' canberra be easier, it has to be 1:72 due to the decal sheets I have got. Cheers Jerry
-
Hi I seem to recall a similar aircraft , that was discussed somewhere, and that it was a cover fot the antenna for Peil G IV for the FuG VIIa radio set. Cheers Jerry

Hi The airfix halifax engines are the way to go for me,( until the engines john mentioned are available) yep they are one piece. But I seem to be currently going for 'retro modelling', not 'model replicas', as the completed kits will never be in a competion etc, and I like to build them in a way to get maximum enjoyment for me, and a bit of memories from younger years 'of threading the same path' during my school years. Some of the old airfix magazine conversions I think were/are great fun,( i.e. avro manchester etc) likewise the old 1;32 revell and 1:48 monogram kits. cheers jerry
-
Hi John, I will look forward to these, hope you let us know when they are available. cheers Jerry
-
Hi Steve, Now that as they say, would be awesome, i will pm you my e mail address. Thanks Jerry

Hi Well as far as I know the airfix Halifax hercules engines are a pretty good match. There was an old airfix mag conversion for doing just this,I have just got a an old halifax off e bay for $0.99,and but I am still looking for the airfix magazine Oct 1968 article. It shouldn't be to hard to find as I recently got the lanc to manchester article off e bay. cheers Jerry
