Tamiya Mercedes CLK GTR 1/24
fet_thunderdome replied to fet_thunderdome's topic in Ready For Inspection - Vehicles
I still have to build the AMG C-Class from 1994 driven by Ludwig, and I complete the D2 series. -
Here's the CLK GTR completed. One of the best cars ever, in my opinion. The kit is hard but rewarding in the long run.

Thanks guys! That's Tamiya ts54 over ts29 base. -
This was the legendary 2 strokes monster driven to victory by Mick Doohan. A pretty hard kit but a rewarding one.

Thanks Ian! -
Here's the 2003 Honda RC211V which Rossi led to victory. The kit is awesome with some additional details like the clutch, gas cables and some other minor things from top studio.

Tamiya Mercedes AMG GT3 1/24 ScaleÂ

Nice finish but if I could add to enhance an already good build would be: 1 push the wheels inside the wells, now they are out of the body 2 put Michelin decals on tires Good job -
A very good and clean build. You should really be proud.

thanks and nice work on the kawa. The F1 tractor shares the same driver name and the same scale!

Thanks, the kit is awesome and fun. I liked Tamiya bikes a lot and I am actually working on a Suzuki XR89 (Kenny Roberts) and Honda RC211V 2003 (Rossi or Hayden, still havent decided). The good things about bikes is the fact that almost all details you do are visibile

Very nice jobs, congratulations

Tamiya Toyota Hybrid TS050 1/24

Thank you sir! -
Here's the new kit from Tamiya and blue stuff additive decals for the 24hrs licensing.
-
I need an advice, I dry fitted the rear cowl of the Tamiya Toyota TS050 and it fits nice without glue, so I am considering not gluing it. This is NOT for exposition purposes, because the kit has no engine and transmission details, but to potentially minimize the risks of glue leaks on the paint job, considering the multiple and long gluing points. What's your call? Thanks

calling a tamiya model inaccurate is something I would not do. Expensive, yes but for a reason: the engineering behind a tamiya kit is fantascientific. The pieces fall togheter almost magnetically. Inaccurate nope. They are (at least for automotive) the best representations of the real counterparts, speaking of details out of the box and proportions. Never seen inaccuracies by their side, have you some examples?

onestly I can't tell, but I can tell you that the next re-repress of the 787b will not contain Dunlop and Cibiè sponsors. I am here wondering why other brands have no problems of licensing whatsoever and tamiya always have something missing (Michelin, Good Year, Cibiè, Dunlop, WEC and so on..)
-
tamiya didn't get the rights for "WEC" "Total" and "24hr of le mans"
-
I am actually building it, almost over. It's a wonderful kit but beware: it lacks WEC, Total and "24hrs of le mans" logos, so you have to buy additive decals. Blue Stuff makes a good set.

Nicely built and nice outdoors photoshoot!
