  11. Well that's certainly something special! I'd never heard of a gunship DHC Beaver and yours looks great - well done. I like the reddish dust sprayed up under the fuselage too; very effective

  13. Great photos from what looks like a really interesting show It's also really interesting to see the range of international attendees. To be clear, that's not a political comment, just an observation about the countries and types represented

  15. This is the Art Model MiG-27D Flogger J which, at the time of writing, I would say is the best Flogger in 1/72. ‘Best’ in this context is relative and it is definitely not the easiest kit to build, with a lot of filling and sanding required. Nonetheless, it is reasonably accurate in shape; I have read that some of the parts derive from the RV Models MiG-23 moulds with the relevant new parts for a MiG-27. Something to watch out for is that the kit comes with a nice-looking resin exhaust, with some good interior detail; however, it is smaller in diameter than the rear fuselage, which is something I didn’t notice until it was too late. I used some elements of the HR Model MiG-27 details set to enhance the cockpit, with Armory wheels (strongly recommended), and KV Models masks, which worked well. Markings are from the box for Yellow 50 from the 19th GvAPIB at Lärz airbase in the former DDR. There are some attractive schemes provided in the Art Model kit but I picked this particular scheme because I could find some decent photos of aircraft from that unit and MiG-27 camouflage varies widely. After some experimentation, colours used for the camo scheme were: Undersurface – Light blue grey Vallejo V71.306 - Dark ghost grey FS36320 V71.120 Uppersurface - Chocolate brown H406 - Dark green FS34092 H302 - Field green FS34097 H340 - Flat earth XF-52 Metal areas - Assorted Vallejo Metallics Given the short-run nature of the base kit, I’m reasonably pleased with the outcome. Chris
