  1. well i did more research and found out my problem... i'm supposed to be using lacquer thinner for tamiya TS paints. i was wondering why my humbrol acrylic thinner wasn't doing much LOL. what an idiot.
  2. got a tamiya grand prix model kit - sprayed primer first, a few light coats. Left it for a bit, now begun spraying the gloss red - which i decanted from the tamiya spray can. Put it in the airbrush and now i'm struggling. So initially, i started with the 0.3mm nozzle. Even with my airbrush set to maximum paint, it was coming out quite fine and leaving an almost matt finish. I figured this was due to not enough paint coming out, when compared to how much is discharged out the spray can. So i put in the 0.5mm nozzle - ended up with the same result, and annoyingly, i've now ended up with a surface thats all grainy and horrible - see pic. I watched this video where this guy is effortlessly spraying this bodyshell, chucking out loads of paint and it looks perfect. Does anyone have any idea what i'm doing wrong?
  3. That looks fantastic - i'll go with the paint then. Hopefully i can remove what i've stuck on safely. Problem i've got is I've already put the green decals on the front of the car, so it might look odd with the back painted/colour mismatch Unless i dismantle the entire front and take out all the parts which will be a nightmare......maybe i'll have to do that!
  4. aah dammit so i bought all the wrong stuff. thanks, i did see that mr soft/sett stuff on ebay but it was all sold out at the time. i'll have to wait.
  5. Any ideas guys? i just made a quick video with my issues....quicker to watch than read! would appreciate any help, cheers https://youtu.be/gzpxdkvleMQ
