  1. I agree on the over the top modulation however the reason I did this was so that it helps break up what in my opinion is an overall pretty boring scheme. I did actually consider spraying another coat to help reduce the effect but I instead used a dusting of pigments to help reduce the effect. This effect isn't usually something you see on the F-15E in my observations but would be more suited to a Navy aircraft.
  2. Very nice kit you've made there a real showpiece.
  3. That's the model that brought me back into the hobby as an adult years ago. I'm almost tempted to get one for nostalgia. It was a decent kit from memory I think there was some filler under the wings if I remember but no other issues.
  4. Thanks, this is a really good kit and having the Italeri F-15E it'll be good to see the difference but the Revell kit is really very good. unusual that such a prominent aircraft has few manufacturers producing it but hey it's all right. I would say the sellers I. eBay are price gouging there's no way this kit is worth what is being asked for on eBay.
  5. Thanks very much. I thought I might have overdone the paint weathering but with decals applied it worked out well.
  6. This is a kit that's easily one of Revells best efforts. The fit is good and the detail is nicely recessed. There were no real issues with this I had to use a bit of filler but nothing much. The pilots came from a Phantom kit I have and the decals partly came from the Italeri F-15E kit. The model was quite simple in construction not overly complicated when it doesn't need to be unlike more modern kits in some cases. I painted this with a sky grey mixed with black painted over a black base with a mottled blue and brown. This gave a nicely worn look and then pigments were used after. The Italeri decals were absolutely brilliant. The last photo was taken at the star of the building process where the light was better. The light wasn't great in the photos and I think a lot of the detail isn't quite as visible, well in photos it rarely is. Anyway any questions as always ask away! Next up is the Eduard rebox of Revells 1/48 Tornado ECR. I have decided I'm going to build all of the aircraft I have with interesting paint schemes for the next 12 months. I have a good few so things will be getting a lot more colourful in the coming posts.
  7. Looks good my advice is have more confidence in your builds you're not bad at all if you can do this. Also great job on the canopy for 1/144 scale you got some sharp edges!
  8. Nice builds. What did you use for hud on the third photo from the top? It's a nice detail I wouldn't mind doing whatever you did there on a future model.
  9. That's a great job all round. I always use a phone camera for photos. A tip as well there's an airbrush on Amazon called Fengda it's about £20 I have two and they're absolutely brilliant. Great looking model. If you'd have put 1/48 in the title I would have believed it
  10. Looks great although I have to say I think the single seat version was better looking in my opinion.
  11. I have not seen an Alpha Jet model in so many years! Looks great!
  12. That actually makes more sense now you mention it I wasn't quite sure what Mig or Sukhoi it reminded me of but I see it now
  13. I recall this plane from a book a long time ago. It looks like a Supermarine Scimitar crossed with an SU-22 at least I think so. Unusual looking plane good looking model
  14. Well then I say a few more photograph's sir! You said an enjoyable build? I must say a rare thing from Kinetic. I should give it a go myself.
  15. Brilliant model and a great finish. I'd like to make a Royal Navy one of these. I honestly can't understand why such an iconic aircraft hasn't been tooled in 1/48 by more than just Hasegawa. I'm holding on to the idea a new tool with cabin detail will be released by Airfix or someone in the future.
  16. Absolutely brilliant finish on those. I noticed you haven't added the wingtip lights on the grey one. You lose them?
  17. That's brilliant I really like the attention to detail on the intake lip and leading edges as th finish is great. I have the 48th scale offering from Airfix myself and am very much looking forward to building it
  18. That's an interesting subject I have literally never seen this helicopter before. Nicely done on a rare subject.
  19. Great paint job on this Blackbird. The weathering gives it scale effect really well. Often these all black aircraft look toylike but you've really captured the look.
  20. That's great I really like the finish on it. I was thinking the rigging you did was probably the first time I've seen it to scale as usually the rigging seems way too thick on other builds. I was caught out by Revell thinking that the anniversary kit they released was a new mould not realising it's as old as the actual Titanic. I hope mine turns out as good as yours has!
  21. That is awesome I was thinking of thi or the Kitty Hawk kit but I think Hobbyboss is possibly the better choice if you had no issues building this as God only knows Kitty Hawk like to make their kits a challenge to put together. Great camo scheme you don't see too many hard edged paint jobs much this looks great. I bet it's quite a beast in size too. Since you used the Quinta Studio's 3D printed cockpit can you see much of it? I know the only access is via the front landing gear so obviously no open canopy so just curious.
  22. I love this aircraft and the job you did is fantastic. The detail in the wheel wells is really great and as everyone has mentioned the camouflage scheme is brilliant your painting is first class.
