  1. Hi all, I'm looking to buy my first compressor and I'm thinking better to buy a good one rather than a cheap one with not so good performance. I've read many reviews and threads with many differing opinions on good and not so good compressors and still not sure which to go for! Can anyone please tell me the essential and desirable qualities I should be looking for in a compressor, please

    Hello

Gents, Many thanks for the welcome. Troy, thank you for the links to the books, they're saved to my wish list! In response to your reply; I know very little about the Spitfire history and even less about modelling! Since I posted my original introduction I have been bouncing from web-site to web-site, picking up snippets of info, particularly that there a lot of variants. My plan is to build an example of each variant, is that a realistic plan?? When building models in the past I have done so with very little knowledge, no preparation and certainly no skill! I have only ever used the basic materials which come with the model, that is a paintbrush, 2 or 3 tins of paint and a tube of glue. Is there a thread I can read which gives advise tips & techniques and tools and equipment? For example, which is the best apraygun for a beginner? Thanks in advance

    Hello

Hello, this is my first venture into 'serious' modelling. Like most I dabbled a little as a youngster with some not too bad efforts, for a youngster!! Now I want to learn how to do it properly, I'm sure I'll be asking lots of questions so all help tips and advice greatly received. My initial interest is all marks of the Spitfire, all it's variants, colour schemes and countries that operated it. So do I ask advice here or on a separate thread??
