  1. Made a start with the cockpit today. Another thing that surprised me. The detail sets I've gotten and no Brake Handel, so I've added one made from plasticard
  2. Bomb Bay suitably populated I have also added the bomb release junction box and conduit which I'm surprised is not in any of the Detail Sets. Just need to add the individual cables from the conduit to the racks them selves, and of cause some paint. Also a word of warning. Tamiya and Eduard have you place the bombs in rows of 4. The standard Lancaster load has them in rows of 3 so beware.
  3. The Sentry will be finished shotley, just the Rotodome to complete. But I have started my next recreation of 463 Sqns PD259 JO-G but this time in the larger 1/48 Scale As usual, I have bought a number of detail sets Flightpath Detail Set Flightpath .303 Machine Guns Belcher Bits Engine Set Paragon Designs Weighted Smooth Wheels Eduard Bomb Bay Detail Set Eduard Bomb Racks Eduard Seat Belts I have decided to begin with the bomb bay and the issue of the misplaced Wireless Op windows I have been looking forward to starting this for a while, so wish me luck
  4. Errr, nope. I like big models, there is just so much you can do with them.
  5. I'm back from the Middle East and after the usual say hello unpack etc etc etc I noticed a large package on the side. The RJ has arrived. I know the RJ is smaller than the E-3 but I didn't realise just how small and checking the numbers, over 10ft smaller in span and length.
  6. Having never done a GB before I would like to get in on the action I've thought long and hard about what to do, and with a rare opportunity on ebay I have come to a conclusion. Nope not a Nimrod (Shock and Horror) but some thing similar, well to my version anyhow. A Boeing RC-135V Rivet Joint Thanks to the Desert Storm from a modeller's view I will be building my 1/72 AMT RC-135V kit as either 63-9792, 64-14845 or 64-14846 of the 55th RW. Not sure which yet. Hope that's OK, Regards Matt
  7. Thanks for the comments guys. She's on hold now while I deploy to a sunnier area for a few weeks. Then when I get back finish this and start a Sentinel.
  8. Decaling started and I've made my choice, hope its the right one.
  9. Virtually Identical but White Lettering is Grey and Grapefruit Lettering is Salmon Pink It'll have to wait as my External Hard Drive has been packed away for detachment.
  10. I'm torn between 103s 90th Scheme or 105s New Low vis?
  11. All the little bits painted and a few extra details added Once fully dried A few coats of Klear then on with the decals, when I decide which aircraft
  12. Thats a very long term project. The Garage is the only big enough place to paint the Sentry, so some sections of track have moved till she's done
  13. Yeah my previous host has stopped operating. But I did forget to upload what she lookes like now
  14. Work has continued on the Sentry, Looking to finish her before I deploy on Thursday The Model Alliance ISTAR Decals arrived last week and now, Having no connections to the Sentrys apart from being stationed on the same station, I'm unsure what to do her as? Any suggestions? ZH101 ZH102 ZH103 ZH103 90th Anniversary Scheme ZH104 ZH105 ZH105 New Low Vis scheme ZH106 ZH107
  15. BM was 433 Sqns Code Letters My Great Uncle was a Sootie on Merlins, Mostly Mosquito but I beleive he did do Lancasters.
  16. Having spoken to the Pilot and Engineer that flew PD259 on her previous Flight and also having recovered the Stbd Fin. PD259 did not have the indervidual codes repeated on her Fins
  17. Last time was recovering the remains of a Lancaster from a scottish hill side. This time we took a trip to look at, Not one but two, Lancasters I have a fair few images Internal and External. To save uploading them all if there is anything you would like to see then please feel free to ask and I will see if I have any and will happily post them. But for now some General and Hero shots
  18. Is that a que for these............................... A number of Stalls at Waddington Airshow had them for £25 so it may be a safe bet to wait for Fairford. I feel its a very good model. The decals can be a disappointment but with better replacements from Model Alliance and others I always go for these. Its not the most accurate of kits, but if you don't work on the things you won't notice. An out of the box build still makes a very attractive model. With a little research and time you can make, as atb27 says a stunner.
  19. Vulcan has left Waddo (18:00)
  20. I was looking today at part of the Flap of PD259 we recovered from Kingussie Its Black "inside" and "out"
  21. I'm in a similar situation How quickly would you like an answer? As next week I'm going for close up looks of both PA474 and NX611, with camera in tow
  22. Thank you guys, And nice to have met you Buzby061 always nice to place a face to a name. Hope you both enjoyed the show, and anyone else that managed to get through the queues
  23. The blacks Matt, There are no reflections, just faded paint and some brush If you are coming to the airshow you will notice the panels are now Satin as we have sprayed them with a protectant
  24. Not together, but they are both on display on stands next to each other
