Recieved 2 sets this Morning
One for the Station Models Cabinet in RAF Waddington Ops (Which I have now taken over from the Andy Kime, Hello if your reading this)
One for myself
Andy gave me a half built model of the Nimrod, which (If you don't mind) I will build up as the AEW and will build another R1 (From my extensive reserve)
Those who are fortunate to be able to see the models in ops, keep an eye out
Its looking Great Sandy
One major issue though, never noticed it on you first set of images, on the right hand side lower wing root you have fitted the SCP Pipe. This is not on the real R1
Other than that super work
Could be worse think of the poor guys who have to keep the MRs going
OH NO!!!!!, there getting rig of the Rod R, that puts me out of a job and I have a Nimrod Q
Looking good so far Sandy
Just one observation for me,
The Twin Bomerang Antenna rear of the cockpit just above the door, you hae left the mount as the kit supplied, it is a smaller mount and my eye is draw to it every time I look at it.
Other than that the build is coming along nicely
Both, we had 3 MR2s 3 AEW3s (That worked) and 3 R1s retired to Training dutys as the R1s role cannot be recreated in flight sim, we was deep setting up until the founder and web-master died and that was the end of that, I have the only copies of the colour schemes
A while back I was a member of A Virtual Airline called White Crow Air a NATO tasked Military Airline using Nimrod Aircraft and other types, the VA never got doing after the death of the creator, I was thinking but yet undesided if I should do this scheme or not as a memorial
Your thoughts?
Started today, no images yet,
Removed the Canoe, because it sits to far back
Filled in the 3rd window on the Left hand side, an MR1 window
Built all the internal Structure
I have moved up the nose gear by an exsisting hole diameter to give a more realistic sit, will give the main gear similar treatment when I get to it!
Filled in all the holes on the wing as when we had 46 she had all her pylons and equipment removed
Super work, I am a fan of dioramas, being a Railway modeller as well, starting a massive project at the moment,
May I make a suggestion?
Turn 180 Degrees and then a row of snow covered pine trees which would then be the back of the diorama, with some French resistant fighters in hiding, I recon that will finish the look superbly
