  1. Thanks Pappy. The trailer was only used for presenting the finished weapons. I build it years ago to putting in the background when photographing my modells. But thanks for the input anyway.👍 Cheers Daniel
  2. As always I made a small base for the jet. I used a piece from an old table, some cardboard from the kits box, paper towels, sawdust and Tamiya colors. Thanks for watching, commenting and your support. Cheers Daniel
  3. Good things come to those who wait. Sometimes it takes some time to get the right input to solve a problem.
  4. Welcome Franz, stunning little Apache👍, I really look forward for more of your modells.
  5. Great work on this nice little kit. I love what you have done to the panel lines, so it looks much more realistic than my Airfix Scooter.
  6. Hi Rob, thanks for your kind words. Yes, thats the kind of car polish I used. If polishing isn´t enough you can use something like Future or Gauzy afterwards. I haven´t tried Gauzy yet but some mates had some stunning results with it on canopies. Regards Daniel
  7. Thanks mate. If I would do a second Strike Eagle, I would rather went for the GWH kit than for the Revell. GWH costs about €10,- mor than the Revell but you will get surely much more fun building it. So maybe this could be an option for you too.
  8. I went on with Eduards GBU-12 bombs and the LANTIRN pods. The GBU-12 are very nice and consist of two resin and eight etched parts each. The four little control surfaces for the rear fins would have been better casted in resin then made from brass. It was a pain in the a... to place this little etched parts and after a while i quit trying. On the second pic you can see the difference between the Revell bomb in the middle and the four bombs from Eduard with their missing parts. At the end it will not be noticed as the bombs are pretty well hidden behind the massive external tanks. The AN/AAQ-13 and AN/AAQ-14 came from a Hasegawa weapon set. The targeting pod was improved with a little etched part, and I´m sure, nobody will ever notice.😆 Everything is at its place. Last point on the to do list were three antennas underneth the cockpit. I think I can call it done now... Cheers Daniel
  9. Hi Dragan. Very nice MiG, very well done.👍 The Croatian colors suits the -21 very well and you brought this perfectly to the 1/72 scale. Daniel
  10. Went on with the first parts of the ordnance. AIM-120B AMRAAM from Eduard Brassin and AIM-9L Sidewinder from ResKit. Both are very nice little kits, Eduard gives you nine resin parts for each missile, ResKit only one for the missile with the tail fins and four etched parts for the control surfaces. Both sets includes a little decal sheet with the stripes for the live and inert version as well as some stencils. I only used the stencils, everything else was painted. Regards Daniel
  11. Small update, I put the Strike Eagle on her legs. The landing gear fits a bit tight but at the end every thing looks good. The wing pylons are not glued to the wing yet so no matter about the gap. Pitots, AOA sensors and the nozzles are also put in place. Have a nice Sunday everyone.
  12. I went on with a washing in some areas, some chipped paint on the leading edges from the wings and the air intakes and a final layer of flat clear coat. The chaff/flare dispensers were painted in red and grey and the Revell decals were added. The lights I made from UV-Resin turned out quite nice with their final paint. The landing gear was improved with some wires, the landing and taxi lights are made from UV-Resin as well. The arresting hook is finished too. Regards Daniel
  13. The decals are done... As mentioned in the first post I mainly used the "Iraqi Freedom Throwback Nose Art" sheet from TwoBobs. At the end I went for the 89-0485 "Memphis Belle III". Only the Air Combat Command patches, the wing tip formation lights and the decals for the two drop tanks came from the Revell sheet. The decals from TwoBobs are very nice to handle, they only need a few seconds in water and react well to Mr.Set&Sol. There are a few decals from two parts, but also no problem with applying the second one after the first layer is dried. Only the yellow stripe at the rudders didn't want as I like them to behave.🧐 ...so I painted the stripes. Regards Daniel
  14. Hi. The work on the rudders took me longer than expected. In the end it was three rounds of filling, sanding and painting. So there was also some drying time I used to finish the position and anti collision lights. For the first time I tried the Molotow Liquid Chrome pens and a one component UV resin. Both worked very well. At least I can call the main paint done. And as long the paint on the Eagle was drying, I started with the undercarriage and the doors. Out of the box the wheel well doors look more like armor plates from a tank than the very thin sheet metal doors they are in real. I used some sheet metal from a Pepsi can to improve kit parts. In the next update I hope to show you some decals on the jet.😎 Daniel
  15. Congrats to the award, you absolutely deserve it. I will call this the best 1:72 Swordfish I see so far. Personally I'm a fan of the camouflaged ones but the silver livery also suits the plane excellent. Daniel
  16. Nice work! ...always good to see a splintered Viggen👏
  17. Stunning model. I like the worn out look of the surface, looks like it went through some heavy sorties in the past. Daniel
  18. Thanks guys. @Andrew May it was caused by my English, but yes, we´re talking about the rudders. @Pappy Thanks for the hint but these are still the original plastic parts marked with a fine liner. They were cut off after the picture was taking and will be replaced by some clear sprues or some kind of glue.
  19. Thanks👍 The junction between the fuselage and the two tailplanes, the seam looked quite nice without filling, but unfortunately there is no panelline or something else on the real plane. You can see it best in the first picture from the December 31st post.
  20. Very nice, your Eagle looks great. Also a very dynamic presentation
  21. Last little thing before painting the Strike Eagle was a little frame for the ADF antenna in front of the cockpit. I used Masking film and super glue for it. A little preshading was done... And here we go, first layer of Gunze H305 is done and it definitely looks like a Strike Eagle now. After finishing with the paint, I realized that there is no panel line underneath the tailplanes. So I had to fill and repaint them. Cheers Daniel
  22. Great result, the paintwork and weathering looks very good. Maybe a bit too much with the panel lines for me, but that's hard to tell from photos.
  23. Last little update before the year is over... I finished the hot section, workflow was nearly the same as on the nozzles: ...primer... ...gloss black... ...some clear coat for a perfect clossy finish... ...different shades of Alclad... ...some clear yellow/blue and smoke from Tamiya... ...clearcoat before masking the whole section... I wish you all a Happy New Year! Stay healthy and motivated for our great hobby.
