1/144 must be a good sized scale to work with Ray so I'll look forward to seeing your results πππΌ I've got the Flyhawk 1/700 Campbletown sailing it's way to me from China- in just waiting on it dropping thru my porch letterbox- I've put myself under great pressure trying to do something so small- my eyes can't quite keep up with the pace these days I noticed as well you are using a Nikon D50 for your photos? And what a great camera it is- I used one myself for general photography for a long while some years ago only for the shutter to pack up and quoted repair bills virtually costing more than the camera itself! Unfortunately it had to go meet its maker- I'll have to sort out a new one- I'm contemplating a bridge camera for model photography Good luck with the Corvette! Craig

KMS Bismarck - Trumpeter 1/700

Well done mate that's a great job you've done there! And I love the white markings you have carried on up the superstructure- with the white card behind it you can see how effective it was at breaking up the ships silhouette and size on perhaps grey and overcast days I'm like you an armour and plane maker and am just trying out on a 1/700 ship- I've ordered the HMS Campbeltown from Flyhawk and just waiting for it to drop thru my letterbox once again well done mate very impressive πππ½ -

Airfix Supermarine Spitfire Mk1a (1/72)
Pandoa replied to mattywheels's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
I'm a big fan of these "oversize" panel lines on these little 1/72 airfix kits- I think they really give a great opportunity to bring out some quality depth- you could also try (very carefully) running a blade thru the panel line over the decal to just push it into the gap that little bit moreπππ½ Also if u just flick that bit of decal off that's folded over by the pilots hatch so u can see the paint underneath u can start to give it that worn look-like u have done on the wing- which can make them look really authentic But great job mate ππ½ -

Great job mate- the decals look painted on too! Well done ππ½ -
Lovely job there my mate ππ½and good clean photographs as well- I needed to see another one of these to keep me fired up as I've got one next in line from the stash- I'm gonna opt for a OOB coastal command version- however I can't crack on with it as yet as the clutter and temporary lack of space in the garage is causing me too much head noise at the mo! Good job well done ππ½

That's fabulous you should be very pleased with yourself- and you just can't beat a big dollop of proper weathering like you've got there! I love it! -

Lovely that mate and I love your choice of colours- you've got great detail for 1/72 scale- something I struggle with with my vision- corrected or uncorrected! πβπβVery well done mate ππ½

That mate is absolutely superb! You should be very pleased with yourself--I especially love the sails and you've done a brilliant job on the sea and a well- π€toilet paper-what a great idea- well done! πππ½ππ½

This is fantastic- great project work all round and the desert backdrop brings the whole subject together and leaving you with a first class presentation- as we used to say 'proper planning and preparation prevents swearing removed - read the requirement in chat poor performance' and this is an excellent performance- very well done mate ππ½ππ½

Quality work there mate and great weathering- I like it πππ½ -
Excellent post Beard much appreciated and yeah I agree with you about the background looking like the uk skies- I'm very happy with the result As for the Ariel I totally agree with you however the more I look the more I kinda like it- it is actually stretched sprue and I clearly haven't stretched it enough but to be honest if I'm not careful I could quite easily end up forgetting to do it all together!π― I did actually start photographing it and then realised I hadn't put the tail wheel in place!!!π

Thanks russ c the model already has deep panel lines and I couldn't resist bringing the depth out and giving it a good heavy weather- perhaps the heavy weathering comes from my previous modelling time as an afv modeller where I just loved mucky and weathered equipment ππ½

Thanks goose very humbling- I try to get a good final presentation for the viewer- I took photographs using natural light in the garden and the Spitfire is in front of a large sheet of grey paper and all I did was photoshop the perspex stand out and added a nostalgic filter to perhaps take the viewer back some years--I'm glad you enjoyed it πππ½

A great plane and a great looking example of it mate- well done- have you any more pics? I'd like to see it a bit closer from front on- it's great! πππ½
