  1. Hi, I'd like to join with my Anigrand 1/72 XB-46, if I may.
  2. The quality of your build is testament to the fact that you are an experienced modeler, and not likely to be prone to simple mistakes- That said, what are the exhausts mounted backwards?
  3. Hopefully this helps- (about halfway down) http://tailhooktopics.blogspot.com
  4. Probably white. They like to use white to have a contrast so if any fluids leak, the leak will be easily spotted.
  5. Actually, a quick check showed some of the pics- http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=429
  6. Hi I vacuformed the parts over wooden molds I carved. I had a build thread on LSP, but the Photobucket debacle wiped out the pics.
  7. If you are reasonably seasoned modeler, you could attempt this method of correcting the kit's intakes- I did it, it wasn't that difficult. http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=21968 Here are mine, in a1/32 FG.1 conversion- http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=33470&p=315784
  8. Hi Tony, thanks for letting me join the GB- I'll build a 1/32 M2F2 lifting body from the 1960s- I'll start a thread when I have something to show. Cheers, Lee
  9. Yes, I have been in contact with him regarding the B-52, he wrote back to me less than a month ago. He sent me the email from this address- Gerald J Elliott <[email protected]> HTH.
  10. I use 2-part foam in many of my vacs, the exothermic reaction isn't nearly hot enough to damage the plastic. I would be concerned about the age of the foam- I have had opened tins of the foam go bad after a few months, which results in costly waste.
  11. Many, many years ago I built this kit OOB... Warts and all, it was one of those kits that were amazingly satisfying to build even though it is quite primitive. Good luck on your build!!
  12. Very nice, I especially like how you fixed the windows- When I last built the kit, when I was a kid, the windscreen and nosecone didn't fit worth a damn. The one on the cover of Scale Modeler was like yours, no seams, and i couldn't for the life of me figure out how he did it back then. Salute!
  13. The TB also lacked the Stanley escape pods, instead being fitted with conventional ejection seats, I don't know what type. The forward 2 seats were mounted off center, so the guy in back had some forward visibility over the shoulder of the guy in the front office.
  14. Raiders, if you plan on being in Oshkosh this year, Kermit Weeks has announced that he is teaming up with the owner of one of the Mars' to bring it this year- Great photo op!! https://www.facebook.com/KermitWeeks/posts/1062169947185417
  15. The Rareplanes kit is pants with regards to the underside- The actual Vulcan underside is relatively flat, (nacelles not withstanding) whereas the Rareplanes kit undulates in cross section in a shape that mirrors the topside.
  16. Tamiya AS30 and AS31 spray paint should fit the bill
  17. An alternative to the Mach 2 kit is the old Aeroform vac- I have several, if you'd like to try that route.
  18. First edition box with "Marinies" painted on the tail- I don't know if that boxing has any value on the collector market, but they are not so common any more.
  19. Which U-2 are you building? The U-2A/C had the J57, the larger U-2R and its variants had the J75, which was a much, much larger engine. It would be like a 1-liter pop bottle next to a 2-liter pop bottle.
  20. That is odd- The only scooters that had the slats bolted shut that I know of were the Blue angel birds- They would be problematic if they suddenly deployed when flying in tight formation, as it was explained to me.
