  5. I have the revell (1/144) and Heller (1/125) A380s BUT the 1/144 is the very first issue with the "old" blue and orange" house colours and the 1/125 is in Lufthansa colours. I fancy the current blue house scheme. Anyone know where I can get the decals (particulary for the 1/125) ??? Will buy or swop or whatever! BTW the A380 at Farnboro' this week had a new scheme claiming it was "recylable"!!! Gav
  6. According to the Afterburner instruction sheet the FS colours are 35450 and 35109 Matching Humbrol paint chips from the binder they brough out a few years ago against my FS fan deck, the best matches are humbrol 47 for the 35450 and humbrol 157 for the 35109 35109 is quoted as modelmaster 2031 in their literature. Modelmaster 2131 flanker medium blue is a decent match to the 35450 and modelmaster 2132 flanker blue grey is a good match for 35109 (from the chips I have made) Those are what I will use on my 1/32 aggressor F-15!!! G
  7. Yeah and Clivey is from Suffolk! (thats almost Holland!) G
  8. Glamorgan in SCOTLAND!!!! Luckily I am English and only live in Wales!!!! (had a hard time this year though, what with the 6 nations rugby and all that!) HOWEVER the other club members are locals (it's a local club for local people!) so the Welsh may rise up and invade Canada!!! For more information on typical Welsh culture, pop over to you-tube and search for Gavin and Stacey!! To further muddy the waters for you my wife is CANADIAN (Hamilton Ont.) and thus my kids are English/Welsh/Canadians. Gav (now increasingly known as Gav-la)
  9. OK, as promised to the Boys at the club, here are some photos from IPMS West Glamorgan's (Swansea) latest club Competition All the F-4s and the Nimrod are Clive's, The Spit is Dave's and the Tiffie is mine. As 'Nessa would say, "Tidy" Hope you like them G

  14. I was in 111(F) sqn's crew room last week and they have a mix of green and grey helmets. When I asked if green or grey were current, I was told you can get both, just depends on what's in the box you are given! (and they both have the light grey reflective + on the top). The kit-racks in the crew room had a fairly equal mix of green and grey. They also have a black cloth visor cover which the pilot flips up when flying (this had the pilots nickname embroidered on it). It protects the visor (obviously!) but also stops the top of the helmet from scratching the inside canopy. here's my boy, ready to go! G
  15. I spoke to 2 red arrow pilots on Monday morning and they told me that the while chatting to the general public at shows, the most common question was "who do you work for?" !!!!!!!! The majority of the "great un-washed" (remember we are talking about "Muggles" here) did not know the Reds were RAF. The guy I was talking to said that most people thought they were sponsored by Coca Cola!!! He was most depressed by the whole thing and he wasn't winding me up! hence the new branding with the big ROYAL AIRFORCE down the side! G
  16. They'll be at Telford. Come and find us and have a look. His output this year has been awesome! He must have done 10+ models! G
  17. That and the fact that is was stuck to the toilet as that is where he spent the first hour after he arrived home on Friday night! Bernadette
  18. Excellent! Thanks (back to Match of the Day!) G
  19. Anyone got a lower photo of a FRADU Hunter? Need to see where the tail hook goes. Does it follow the centreline of the aircraft and the "bump" thing is move to the side? (going to convert an F6_ ???? Gav
  20. Hiya Shaun, The resin is fine. Only thing I got wrong was the engine intakes. They are not 4 identical parts. 2 have square intakes on. Don't do what i did and stick the 2 with intakes together as a set and ditto of the 2 without. Too late by the time I had noticed and thus had to fill and scribe. Hope mine turns out as nice as Clive's pair. A T17 and an Argie B2 Gav
  21. oooohhhh yes!!! The nose is full of ball bearings. As is the forward region of the engine nacelles. The rear ejection seat is left out and every available fuselage space forward of the leading edge is stuffed with bluetac! Its bl**dy heavy, hope it's enough! G
  22. Well I have got to finish something for Telford. Only a few weeks left so I'm up late filling the wings seams (again) on the ol' girl. CA Canberra T17. She's still gonna need painting! Hemp and LA Grey. Filling with filler/nail varnish remover. Dries quickly but causes the Halford primer to orange-peel like mad. Out with the wet 'n' dry! G
