  1. This should be for C wing, but it has bulges for both C and E wing guns, this should not have existed...even that small ejection opening next to the panel, just by wheel well, what is that for?
  2. Continuing my research of Tamiya 1/32 Spitfire Mk.IXc model, I find this odd...is this complete and utterly wrong underwing gun cover???
  3. My mistake, indeed I was thinking on engine air intake... Thank you for answers. This sound logical 🙂 What about rivets on wings leading edge? Where they flush with airfoil, puttied and invisible?
  4. Please help, I am making a model of Spitfire Mk IXc MH654. I have doubt on the typ of the oil cooler, it is not visible on the photograph. Is typ of the oil cooler related to engine model? I know that engine is Merlin 63. Thank you for help. Marko Jeras Zagreb, Croatia
  5. Hello! I need help! How could possibly look stencils for serial applied to Spitfire MH654 that was returned from USAAF to RAF No. 1435 Squadron in Italy in 1944? Can you please show me any clear, close up photos of serial numbers on Spitfires in that period, of numbers 4, 5 and 6 that would show how stencils, masks for painting numbers were cut? Thank you for reading. Marko Jeras Zagreb, Croatia [email protected]
  6. Thank you for oppinion and advice! Will look in available photos of Spitfires of 1435. Squadron. With kind regards, Marko
  7. To make myself notmistaken, I meant any numbers 4 and 5 on Spitfires IX in Italy 1944...
  8. Dear Gentelmen, Spitfire IX MH654 was in USAAF 31st FG at the beginning of 1944. Before handing it to MAAF, it had cammouflage and all markings removed in Italy. Then it got new RAF markings. It was then handed to 1435. Squadron. As can be seen on this photo, serial was re-applied with stencil. Does anyone might have photos of numbers 4 and 5 to see how stencil looked? Thank you for reading, Marko Jeras
  9. Dear Gentlemen, I am trying to find full serial for bare-metal Spitfire IX used by 1435. Sguadron in spring of 1945. I presume that aeroplane code was 'X-V' and serial begin with MH6?? Why wasn't that aeroplane cammouflage painted? Thank you for reading!
  10. I agree completely. A photo is a photograph. Problem of us, modelers, is that very rarely there is such a photo that reveal all we wish to see... Thank you for your input!
  11. PZ343 is written in loss record, together with UP-B code.
  12. Hi Jure! thank you for input. I know of that photo, but I doubt it is UP-B. All Mossies of 605. at that time had plane ID letter painted in white on nose.
  13. Dear Gentelman, I am preparing to build Tamiya 1/32 Mossie as 605. (County of Warrwick) Squadron aeroplane. My problem is that on all photographs of 605. Sq. Mosquitos have shrouded exhausts, many of them have underside painted in black. Period I am interested in is autumn of 1944. Is it possible that all aeroplanes came from Series I of production? 605. used Mossies for both night Intruder and daylight Ranger missions. Aeroplane that I would like to make model of is PZ343 (UP-B). I believe that in that aeroplane W/Cdr. R.A. Mitchell and his navigator F/Lt. S.H. Hatsell did not return from night Intruder mission to Germany on 17 March 1945. I need your help to clear my concerns about cammouflage and exhaust shrouds. Thank you for reading. With kind regards, Marko Jeras Zagreb, Croatia
