1960's British small conflicts GB ?
How about a 1950's - 1960's British Small Conflicts GB, that could include:
Malaya
Korea
Suez
Kenya
Cyprus
Aden
Borneo
Northern Island
Apologies if I have forgotten any.
Cheers

How about a British Forces GB? As long as it served with the British Armed Forces it counts. Say WW1 to 2011? Land, Sea or Air. Any interest?
Simon that pretty far reaching, how about narrowing it down a little to a period (eg Cold War), a decade or a conflict.
Just my

Definitely my taste that's for sure, the weathering on your Spitfire looks simply stunning.
Care to give a bit of a rundown on the techniques you used to achive that finish?
Please post some more shots.

I don't know if this is going to be of any use at all, but these are the rules we use at IPMS to define exactly what is and isn't OOB.
Out-of-Box (all scales, all subjects)
This category is designed to produce a model within the limitations of the following conditions:-
i) The model must be built using parts contained within a single kit as per the instructions.
ii) No modifications may be made to those parts (no gun barrels or exhausts being drilled out etc)
iii) The model must be built in the colour scheme, markings and decals supplied in the kit.
iv) Filler or model putty may be used for filling joints and gaps only.
v) Sprue or other material may only be used if specified in the instructions.

Absolutely gorgeous build Sandy and beautifully weathered

Just one small thing, I think you'll find 152 Squadron was an RAF unit not an RAAF one.

They are more likely to be practice bomb dispenser. I am certain they are not AWQ-14 data link pods.
Jens
I am pretty sure Jens is right, those pods look like SUU-21/A practice bomb dispensers.

Wow super nice job on the distressed winter camo and that little dio looks great

That type of track, now the norm, is the reason I have given up modelling totally.
Tony
Have you ever thought about perhaps modelling aircraft or ships?
-
But still as i ask who's is the best?
Hi Simon, in answer to your question the Tamiya kit is the best by a fairly long margin in every department. As others have said it's more expensive than either the Revell or Airfix offerings but you get what you pay for.
As a side not Eduard and Ultracast do some really nice sets that will dress up any Mosquito a treat.

That's a good tip. Is Mr. Thinner the same as enamel thinner, or lacquer thinner?
Lacquer thinner

to the forummate.Bookmark this site http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/plamo/ as they have the instructions for most kits they sell online. I have found this extremely useful over the years when shopping on line so that I can see what schemes are offered and of course what colors are needed.

Thanks guys I've just put in a quick order to Ultracast for a cockpit door without crowbar for my BoB Tamiya Spitfire Mk.1

Nice job mate, what are the tracks like on that old Airfix kit?
-
Good to go Mish with a Matchbox 1/72 Walrus, my seven year old daughter will also be a starter with something, don't know what yet but she's keen to build a model with dad and have a go with the air brush.
Cheers

Andrew great job and thanks for the inspiration, I've just picked up this kit and plan on building the RAAF option (of course) included with the kit decals.
-
Trusky I've been following your WIP thread on this build and the final product is even better than I imagined, it's simply stunning

-
I would definately be a starter for this one with my AMT 68 Plymouth Roadrunner.
-
Bloody hell Iain you're a brave man with that teeny weeny PE fret, good luck with the build.
-
To be honest had I not seen/read your thread Jonners
I would have been tempted to 'Go Buy one' based on the mag reviews!?
Still haven't got one yet!
Adrian
Those mags depend on the model companies for advertising revenue so it doesn'l surprise me at all reviews are almost universally positive.
I used to write reviews for a mag but quit when my reviews had to be shortened to fit in available space, the only problem was that it was only the negative parts of the review that were removed.

Doesn't look awful to me at all, in fact it looks great. I know exactly what you mean by things looking just fine in real life but when I take a photo of them it looks like the dog chewed my kit.
Please keep the updates coming.

here's a report via the BBC concerning the post mortem to the engine failure..
and they just announced that Qantas are seeking court action against Rolls Royce for compensation..
I was kind of expecting this to tell the truth, now it will be fought out in the courts for years to come.

If this was a Hasagawa kit people would be raving uncinditionally
Sorry mate but that is a fantasy. Try looking at some of the on-line "discussions" or browse a couple of reviews on the Raptor or the Hellcat and just see how little unconditional raving goes on.
I have looked at the pics Velo posted to make confirm and I still think the cockpit detail is soft compared to the fine work in the wheel well & speed brake.
Also, the panel lines are at long last looking like panel lines yay!!!

Wow that's an outstanding build Mark, congrats

or you could man up, grow a pair and walk in with the box and say nothing.
If there are any comments, just tell her that it its a a really cool limited edition kit, that you must have, just like her last pair of shoes.
But waaaaaaay cheaper,(also works on smokers)
You are of course joking. Foolhardy I may be suicidal I am not.
