  1. Hi Dan, Just did a quick look around and Hobby Search are listing it as a pre-order which will be available mid June. Cheers
  2. Agree and if you look at the side of the windscreen it is quite shinny and you can easily see the details of the cockpit through it. Definitely doesn't look like just dust to me.
  3. Very cool this is, it reminds me a lot of the old F-19 Stealth Fighter questions and what ifs that were going around before the F-117 was unveiled to the public. I have my doubts about the lumps, bumps, refueling probe and external armament hang off the image in magman2's post as this would kind of destroy the stealhiness of the bird. Cheers
  4. Not to my eyes they didn't. The finish on MB-T looks faded, stained and dirty but it doesn't look to be a deliberate two camo scheme. It's very similar in appearance to this RAAF Beaufighter from 455 Squadron.
  5. Really nice work Graham congrats on a fine looking build. I'm doing this kit myself at the moment and it really isn't that hard, Special Hobby have certainly come a long way in the last few years. cheers
  6. Far canal Nick that looks simply stunning and double ditto Jim and Spence said. Cheers
  7. I have just checked the DML parts and instructions here and it looks like only the canopy with the top blister is included.
  8. Hi Tony I agree with DC, from what I have read from those in the know an RAN S-2G can be built from the box of the Kinetic kit. Markings can be found here and here Cheers

    Photo etch

That is the single best bit of advice you can get when working with PE

    Photo etch

Some tools you will need: Sharp blade for cutting the bits of the fret, I use safety razor blades for this as they are cheap and I don't blunt my No11 blades cutting etch. A hard flat surface to cut on, an old 6 inch ceramic tile is perfect for this. Fine tweezers and toothpicks with a micro blob of blu tack on the end to position PE of various sizes. Medium and thin CA PVA or Future (see Mikes post) Mild nail polish remover is vital and keep it in reach (don't ask me how I know this ) Cheers
  11. Admittedly this is not much help but it's the best shot I've got. This shot is from the XF4U-4 prototype and I believe the object in the red circle is the bottle is what you are looking for (maybe). Cheers
  12. Here's a couple of threads that may help you in your quest Skip. The first one is from me asking the exact same question Swordfish Camo Link 1 Swordfish Camo Link 2 HTH.
  13. Looks great so far Pappy! I must admit when I saw this on one of the Asian model sights I had no idea at all what the spacecraft was supposed to do. Keep the updates coming.
  14. Hey Dannielle, According to RAAF Serials 209 was definitely a Mk.20 delivered in 11/58. Have a read of the page I have linked as it gives a great rundown on all RAAF Canberras both locally built and those supplied from EE. The site itself is a great resource for all RAAF aircraft and often has photos and histories of individual birds. Cheers
  15. Hey Dannielle, The build looks just fine to me but would agree that the engine intakes could use a wash with some clear yellow or some dry brushing to break up the plain silver-ness if you know what I mean. Also, and please forgive me for this as it's anal beyond belief but A84-209 was an Aussie assembled Canberra and they were designated Mk.20 not B.20 as commonly noted. Also, the red lightning bolt is too far forward on the tail, it should sit something like this or this Please excuse the ubber .
  16. Wow nice work there, I really like the finish you've put on it. By the way what kit is that?
  17. Jerry I built this kit with my 5 year old daughter (she painted it pink) as a bit of fun. To put it bluntly if you after a serious modeling project of an A-4 then give it a miss completely and go for either the Fujimi or Italeri kits (you will need to backdate the A-4E). The fit is terrible and it's completely lacking a lot of details found on production Skyhawks. If you just want something to blast together and that if squint really hard kind of looks like a Skyhawk, then go for it and have some fun. Cheers
  18. For question 3, the inside color of hatches is normally painted the same as the exterior color so that it doesn't break up the camo when the hatch is open. Agree with Deon those are definitely smoke grenade launchers for question 2. Also, the paint job looks superb on your model btw.
  19. It's almost a certaint that this aircraft (A46-199) took part in Combat ops being assigned to 4 squadron RAAF, who were based in New Britain (44) and Labuan (45) and where tasked with supporting US & Australian ground forces. Most definatley going to be picking up one of these!!
  20. Great thanks for that mate, I wouldn't have picked it up until I had painted the cockpit and added the PE bits, which would have been a real pain. Cheers
  21. Great looking build Daz and yes I really do like that color scheme, it looks great. I'm currently building that Spec Hobby Mk.Vc and will come across the sidewall issue when I close up the fuselage. Can you tell me how did you get around it, thin out the side wall, the framing or both? Cheers
  22. Micro Sol & Micro Set always work wonders with tamiya decals, just be prepared for multiple applications of Micro Sol to get the buggers to snuggle down properly.
  23. Really nice work Arkady, I'm looking forward to your next update. Thanks for the heads up of the RAF Interior Green, but mind if I ask what color/mix you used for the seat? Cheers
  24. Nice looking build, I really like the winter camo scheme. For decals that will not conform to compound curves you need some decal setting solutions such as Micro Sol & Micro Set or for more difficult decals us Mr Mark Softer.
  25. I'm sticking the crowd here, I wash resin bits with warm soapy water before priming and the model itself prior to applying any paint, basically just to get rid of my greasy hand prints.
