Here are a couple of shots that may be of interest or help to you.
Here's a shot of Fred Christensen standing next to his P-47D-25 "Miss Fire"
These two are from a P-47 that was put into storage at the end of WWII and is now on display untouched. They give a good idea of the Dull Dark Green color the others are talking about. For my own use, I use Tamiya XF-26 Deep Green for this color.

Lookng at the sprue shots on Cybermodeler, it looks as if they've screwed the rockets again. Or maybe I've got it wrong.

I've just had a read of the preview for the new Trumpeter 1/48 Sea Fury Modeling Madness Link it's pretty much as I suspected it was going to be and I'll be happy enough to make the mods I need and care about. The 1/72 Trumpy Sea Fury builds up into a nice little kit but I've been waiting for a decent Sea Fury in 48th scale forever.
It's currently going for $55 AUD on HLJ but they are rip off merchants and the price will decrease dramatically when it filters down to the better online asian stores.

Andy my recipe for tank tracks is as follows:
1. Base coat flat black acrylic
2. Wash with red brown oils
3. Very lightly dry brush (outside of track) with semi gloss black
3. MiG powder to weather wet and dry
4. Dry brush steel edges of guide horns
5. Rub graphite powder (with finger) to exterior of tracks to simulate wear.

Good point Bo, on the Ultracast early seat with Sutton harness it looks like a piece of the harness goes through the hole.

Edgar that's pretty much the same info that I saw posted on Large Scale Planes. I think you're right though, PCM are a small outfit who specialise in the Italian Air force and having a kit like this that is selling like hot cakes is probably taxing them to the limit.

Nice vid of the Spitfire Schrödinger and nice job on the build is it 1/72 or 1/48. Also the star/flag thing on the tail, is that the hero of the Soviet Union award?

hi given up the ghost on doing a yellow wing, so over to the marine version from an exercise in 41 just prior to pearl.
the hobbyboss colour sheet states light gull grey, but that don't seem right to me for this period? as a light/neutral grey seems more appropriate
any ideas or FS No's.

My references tell me naval aircraft (USMC) pre-42 should be ANA 603 Sea Grey (neutral) FS:36118 which is Tamiya XF-24, Gunze H305 & Model Master 1723. Unfortunately there is no direct Humbrol match.

ONE THING TO NOTE: There is actually only one rudder in the kit! Ken at PCM is trying to determine what happened because the test shots had both as specified.
Yeah I noticed that from the screen shots Leigh provided, bummer that but nothing some enterprising AM outfit couldn't handle.

Two rudders so a Mk VIII conversion wouldn't be a prob then you could do sharkmouth R.A.A.F. birds too.

.Now I have to get another so that I can do an RAAF bird because the first one's definitely going to be Johnnie Johnson's mount with the invasion stripes.

Pacific Coast 1/32 Spitfire IX
in Aircraft WWII

I got mine a few days ago now and have to say that I'm very happy with it indeed. I don't normally build 32nd scale but as the Spit is not a large aircraft in the first place this won't require a new wing being built on to my house to store my model.
My only complaint (and this is nitpicking in the extreme) is that the spinner is lacking a little detail which would be OK in 48th scale but to me stands out a little in 32nd.
Aside from that it's a beauty and I'm looking forward to starting hopefully this weekend so I'll post the progress here as I go.
As far as the origins of the kit personally I couldn't give a black rats … to me that is just not important, but then I'm one of people who are quite happy to build the Hasegawa/Revell Mk.IX and be well and truly pleased with my model.
