  1. That's some great info there Edgar thanks. Do you my chance have a photo of the B&W stripes on the prop tips, or failing that are they vertical, horizontal, or diagonal? TIA
  2. Duncan that's some great looking progress although it's a little hard to see exactly. If you camera has a macro function try setting it to that (it will look like a flower symbol) and use something to steady your camera such as a tripod, it will make a world of difference to your photos.

    Humbrol Mattcote

I concur with peepbeep, Humbrol MattCote is superb stuff which I thin to about 50/50 with Humbrol thinner and then mist on 2 or 3 coats with the Airbrush. Cheers
  4. Great job Marcel that is a fantastic paint job especially given that it's in 72nd scale . Please keep the updates coming. Cheers
  5. Looks great Pete I can't wait to see some paint on her
  6. I'm quite surprised that at this stage most of the votes have gone for Revell AG, I would have thought Tamiya would be the go given what they were able to do with their latest F-16s, interesting. My second choice would have been hasegawa but then you would have to scrounge a weapons load from either Hase or a third party. Cheers
  7. Hi Andy, I used the Eduard self adhesive PE set for my Trumpy Sea Hawk and I think they are a great idea. In answer to your questions yes they do stay down but give you more than enough time more a few repositions which was something I'm really grateful for. Once in place I just gave them a firm press with a finger or toothpick and hey presto they're on. One thing you should be aware of is that not all of the parts on the fret have the sticky on the back, in my case it was just the main IP & consoles I think (maybe a few more I can't remember). All of the rest need to be attached by traditional methods of CA or Future. Cheers
  8. Cool build Ian and I loved the materials you've used for the accessories, congrats
  9. Very nice Char and figure mate they both look fantastic, but that moggy s***e that looks awesome it's soooo real
  10. Matt any chance of narrowing the GB to Bomber Command 1939-1945, or does everybody want it open slather?
  11. I read that it's a repop of the (very nice) MPM kit. It'll be interesting to see how it is priced compared to the MPM boxing.
  12. PJ that's really a loaded question as all of the major manufacturers (and minor ones) have their good kits, their great kits and their dogs, it really depends on what you're looking for. A better question would be who makes the best 1/65 Whittelsworth Spangdangle? That way people can give their recommendation based on their experience for accuracy, fit, details, etc, etc.. Happy modeling
  13. Definitely in for this one with a Lancaster, but can we make it for later in the year? Cheers
  14. Well I made a start on the Bf 110 on the weekend and man are there a lot of tiny little pieces in this Eduard kit. Even though I spent a good three hours on the kit so far cleaning and gluing sub-microscopic bits of pieces of styrene it looks like I've done absolutely nothing. Unfortunately to add to my normal ten thumbs modeling I managed to slice a large chunk into my left index finger with a vegetable peeler on Saturday which is making it even harder to hold those little buggers now. I'll take some snaps when there is actually something reasonable to see. Mish I'm glad to hear that you're getting that PE fret taken care of, I'll be looking forward to checking out your build when it gets going. Cheers
  15. John the only Ju 88A-1 in 1/72 that I haver ever heard of was the AIMS resin kit but I have absolutely no idea where you could pick one up from. The only other early Ju 88 that I know of is the Hasegawa/Revell A-4 but this is probably not what you are after. HTH
  16. Bloody hell mate you're leaving me in the dust, all I managed today was the a few pieces of the cockpit on my 110. I tell you that throttle quadrant is a real pain to set right. Great progress Any keep it up Cheers
  17. Test successful Andy and that's a damn nice Pz.IV by the way
  18. Welcome to the build LDS. It looks like you're in good company with with a few other 1/32 birds being built for this GB. Btw, keep the updates coming
  19. Great stuff Greg, btw have you built the Hase Hurricane before.
  20. Looks like an awesome build Dave and to me nothing says Battle of Britain quite like a yellow nosed 109 (well from the German side anyway). I'll certainly be watching this one with interest. Btw, what's the kit like, can you give us a bit of an in-box review?

    Tamiya Acrylics

Tim it's the Ammonia in the Windex that does the job. Amongst the IPMS crown here, the Ammonia based Windex is standard cleaning agent for acrylic paint. It's also used as a thinner for the Vallejo Model Color range as is stops the paint clogging your air brush. Cheers

    Tamiya Acrylics

Tim, yes Tamiya thinner is expensive but if you use it only to thin their paint a bottle goes a long way. You can use plain old cheap Windex (or the UK equivalent) to clean out your Air Brush and other brushes. Cheers
  23. to the forum Pete, I'll be looking forward to seeing some of those targets er tanks posted
  24. Wow that's a great piece of work Dean, congratulations.
