  1. Brilliant idea Dave, they should look awesome sitting together, especially in RAAF markings. By the way is it my imagination or are the panel lines on the Airfix offering a little trench like? Cheers
  2. Sounds like a great choice, I always like the Buck in that desert pink camo.
  3. I don't know if I will be able to start on April 1 but I am still a definite yes for this build. Cheers
  4. Absolutely stunning work their Paulo, keep the updates coming
  5. Simply one of the best models I have ever seen, fantastic detail and a magnificent paint job Cheers
  6. Bloody hell peter that looks fantastic, great job
  7. Chocks away old chap keep those updates coming.
  8. Awesome looking paint job Jen, did you spray that camo freehand? Cheers
  9. It's in stock at HobbyEasy for GBP 34.30. I'm not sure how that compares with your local prices though. Cheers
  10. Nice looking model of one of my all time favorite aircraft Paul. One thing I might suggest next time is a coat of flat varnish for the aircraft after the washes have been applied. Tomcats - Anytime Baby. Cheers
  11. Mike you probably have found this out already but you will need to trim a reasonable amount off the bottom of the resin sidewalls to allow the Tamiya lower wing half to attach correctly. On the color scheme I would go with a standard RLM04 for the bottom of the Messerspit and the upper surfaces in RLM 74/75 with the sides of the fuselage in RLM 75 with RLM 74 mottling, but as you said it's your model so I'll be keen to see what you decide. Cheers
  12. What more can I say other than geez that looks lovely and as kiwiSteve said, any chance of a posting a little technique or two. Cheers
  13. I don't know if this is what you're looking for but it's the best I can offer. Cheers :::EDIT::: If you need a bigger image PM me and I'll send it to you.
  14. That's a great clip David thanks for posting.
  15. Hey there Maxidad. I don't know what you are talking about when you say "every cock-up", the front office looks just fine to me, nice job. When it comes to load out on the P-47, the 200 gallon ferry tank, a conformal tub-shaped jettisonable tank made of paper, was used as an interim measure between 30 July and 31 August 1943; so that's out of the picture for this build. The 215 gallon belly tank, a wide, flat steel tank that allowed performance-degrading wing pylons to be removed, was not used until February 1945. If you're modeling a mud mover for D-Day then a typical load out would be: One 108 gal or 150 gal tank on the center line or belly shackle One 1,000 lb or 500 lb or 4.5 in HVAR rocket on each wing pylon. Also, what happened to the upper wing on your kit is known as it being "short shot" and is quite unusual for a major manufacturer like Academy. Hope this helps
  16. I use the Iwata lube and find it's great. As for the small tube, well you only use a drop at a go and the one I've have has lasted for about five years now and shows no signs of running out.
  17. I don't know whether this is important to you or not, but the Italeri boxing contains all the possible weapons loads carried by the Avenger whereas the Acc Min boxing only contained either depth charges or torpedoes depending on which version you bought. Cheers
  18. This has been so far one of my all time favourite modeling threads, the work on display is utterly jaw dropping and the subject matter is just soooo right for a super detail job. If this doesn't appear as a major feature article in a magazine it will be a crime. Cheers
  19. Peter, I've built both kits (Academy & Hase) and either one will suit your purposes. However the Hase kit which has been re-popped by Revell AG is by far the better of the two. Cheers
  20. Geez Neil you really are going all out on that one, that's some really fine work on that etch . By the way what vehicle is that periscope from?
  21. Amen to that brother. Mick that's a nice looking construction job on a really lovely aircraft. If you don't mind a little feedback I think the weathering may be a little overdone as a BMF aircraft it looks quite dark in the photos, although this maybe the lighting you've used. I'm not familiar with Promodeller's Dark wash, but I normally weather BMF aircraft with a medium "sludge" wash keeping the panel lines fairly clean. Cheers
  22. Wow it was certainly worth the evening’s effort Neil, the stowage box looks great. The whole kit's coming along really nicely, I can't wait to see it with some paint on. By the way what are you going to use paint wise for a British tank circa 1944? Also, those AFV (Skybow) Tigers are really the ducks nuts and go together beautifully. I hope you don't mind but here's one I did a couple of years ago.
  23. Fantastic job Mish, he really looks the part. Definitely a keeper that's for sure. Cheers
  24. I've never had that problem with them Andy and I use them all the time. I find I have to soak them for about 30 seconds, then leave them sit for another 30, then lay them down using Micro Sol & Micro Set. A coat of Future when they're dry and Bob's your uncle. Sorry to hear you’re having such a crap time though.
  25. That's a nice kit Stebos and it doesn't need PE to make it look a real treat. I'll be looking forward to your updates.
