  1. Looks bloody great so far Tim, the extra detail work you've done in the cockpit and that Aeroclub seat really make a massive difference. Please keep the updates coming
  2. Oops forgot to say to the forum!!
  3. This is a very difficult question to answer as every single kit manufacturer has their dogs as well as their star kits. A better question to ask would be "Who has the best kit of a 1/48 Huppington Widgebanger?" that way people can answer much more specifically on engineering, fit, accuracy, etc, etc... However, for someone returning to the hobby after a long break you could do far worse than the Tamiya 1/72 P-47. This is a beautifully engineered little kit that fits together like a dream. It's very nicely detailed out of the box, won't set you back an arm and a leg and has a fairly simple camo scheme. Hope this helps
  4. Hi Chris, Progress is looking really good so far but I have to ask, with all the extra work you are doing on this kit why on earth didn't you just do the CA Canberra T.17? Cheers
  5. Great looking Viper Peter, you've really done a nice job there.
  6. You didn't mention what scale you are doing and what kit but Wolfpack Design does a wing fold set for the FA/18 E/F in both 72nd and 48th scale. Cheers
  7. Mental I've made the change from Tamiya X-20 thinner to a lacquer thinner but I use Gunze rather than Tamiya. As Jen said there is not a quantum of difference but more than enough that I'll never go back to straight Tamiya acrylic thinner again. Cheers
  8. Chuck that is some awesome work the front office looks amazing, I'll certainly be watching this one progress By the way for next time a great match dark dull green out of the bottle is Tamiya XF-26 Deep Green. Cheers
  9. Steve great looking progress there she looks great. I think the way you've painted the kit up should really match the original photo when it's done. Also, forgive me if you are planning this already but if an aircraft is carrying two different sized drop tanks like that then smaller of the two was filled with Napalm and normally painted yellow so it could be identified by the ground crew. Cheers
  10. Well my vote will definitely go for the Tamiya F-15E, which is an awesome looking aeroplane in 1/32nd. Cheers
  11. That looks bloody nice so far Colin, please keep the updates coming
  12. I'm doing a bit of Canberra research at the moment and came across this image which I thought you guys and gals might like. The shot was taken at RAAF Phan Rang in Vietnam, pretty cool huh. Cheers
  13. Martin in answer to your original question which I think Ray has answered anyway, the best kit for those decals is the Minicraft offering.
  14. Steve, you will find the instructions for the 72nd Hasegawa F triple 1 here Cheers
  15. Yes they did Andy, I've just had a look at a couple of references and I have photos of both s.FH18 and le.FH18 15cm guns being towed around the western desert by Sd.Kfz.11 and Sd.Kfz.7 halftracks. Cheers
  16. Nice build Ale and congrats on your first camo job.
  17. Looks good Matt and thanks for posting all of the helpful hints along the way, like a lot of others I have this kit in the "to do" pile so your advice is very welcome. Oh and by the way great job on the cockpit it looks great!! Cheers
  18. The only things you get thrown in are the occasional figure sets such as the Tamiya (Italeri) 1/35 Autoblinda which has a couple of Tamiya figures included.
  19. I can't watch it now because they block Youtube here at work but I'll certainly have a look at home tonight, thanks.
  20. That's a sweet looking ROK bird magman, nice job
  21. She looks bloody fantastic Ian, the diffusion method you're using is working out a treat, I'll definitely be giving it a go in the future.
  22. I agree with the other guys that the kit to go for would be the Tamiya offering. Also Ultracast make an excellent range of add-ons for this kit to allow you change the spinner, lower the control surfaces, etc, etc. As for an opponent, IMHO thew best kit for this would be the Hasegawa F or early G trop, both excellent kits in their own rights. Cheers
  23. Thanks for the heads up Rob, I've just paid a visit to the Squadron website and placed an order. Cheers
  24. Cool shot thanks for posting, I've certainly got that one saved away for later use. Cheers
