  1. Charlie, The best by far is the Tamiya kit although it is only suitable OOB for variants with the glacis armour. Earlier variants without can be created by conversion and it can also be used as a basis for T-90. As far as I know the Trumpeter is a copy of the Tamiya anyway. Justa bit soft round the edges. The recent Revell release is an unknown quantity to me. I have it in the stash but have not built it yet. Cheers Andy
  2. Thanks Guys, there will be more along soon. Scot's - Go on give it a go. If it is the Tamiya one you'll love it, if the Trumpeter.... it will be a challenging (no pun intended) build. Andy
  3. Nice finishes on these Leigh, glad to see someone else using natural materials for groundwork too. Andy
  4. Nicely done, Take some Black & White pictures and that dust could be snow! ( Just brush it off the figures & you'll get away with it.) Andy
  5. Hi all, Further to the encouraging responses I got to my first armour posting, I will use this thread to show the rest of the Division that is built up. The next three come from "Challenger" Coy, 5 Tk Bn, US/UK Tk Regt. Challenger II Op TELIC - Tamiya Challenger I Mk 3 Op Granby - Tamiya Challenger I - Tamiya All comments welcomed. Andy
  6. Thanks for the welcome Mish, You are on the slippery slope now. Armour is insideously addictive, (I should know, 8ys back in to it and 25 projects on the go at the moment, and that is after finishing 4 stalled projects in the last two months!) Andy
  7. Hello Andy, Zvezda can be a bit of a mixed bag. Depending on the kit there are sometimes fit issues, detail can be a bit heavy or soft and their vinyl tracks tend to be a bit of a mare. I have had warping issues in the past with them, but overall they do offer interesting subjects. The kits are basic giving a good basis for detailing but they can provide an interesting challenge if you are only used to the likes of Tamiya & Dragon. Andy
  8. Thanks Chaps, glad to be here. Just hope you don't get sick of the sight of them, loads more to post! Third today... Warrior (Academy) from 2MR Bn, US/UK Tk Regt http://www.militarymodelling.com/members/i...rrior_above.jpg This was my first attempt at scratchbuilding, with a partial interior to this Academy kit.
  9. Next is a Marder 1 representing 3MR Bn, NATO Tk Regt, 1/35th Tk Div This was my first complete armour build that I was happy with. Andy
  10. Greetings All, Being the new kid on the block I thought I'd show some of my older builds. I originally started on Aircraft, got hooked into armour in a job related sort of way, and subsequently have been more industrious with AFVs. I have also aquired an alarmingly large stash of vehicles awaiting their turn at the workbench. I have an ambitious plan to produce a 1/35th Tank Division eventually, so here are the first elements forming up. First up: 1 MR Bn, FSU Tk Regt. BMP-2D (Zvezda 1/35th) All comments welcomed. Andy
  11. Did you say Canberras Lurking in the monstrous pile of plastic I have are three of the beauties. 1/72nd Aifix B1(8), Matchbox PR 9 & a Classic Airframes 1/48th B2. My favourite pointy thing has to be the Jaguar after having worked with them for 7 years. Hurrah for the fighting 54th! The Premier Jaguar Squadron. Andy
  12. Thank You all for your kind words and your warm welcomes My special thanks to Bexy for the picture tweaking. I confess to being a bit of a TechnoBiff, so bear with me. As I said at the start, I do intend to finish more wingythings and I hope to be able to post more pics shortly of two other aircraft I have actually finished. Fascinated by all the good stuff I have seen whilst browsing around, so there will be more. Andy
  13. Greetings all, Here is my first ever posting to Brit modeller. This kit was a beauty to put together. Completed in a month of evenings whilst on a course at RAF Henlow in 2005, this was the first aircraft model I had attempted and completed in several years. Mainly OOB but with a few additions here & there: Rotor head hoses & cables, additional piping & cabling in cockpit and cabin, 2nd crew fan in cockpit, hydraulic lines in under carriage bays. I mainly do armour but this was a nice cross-over and as a result I intend to break into the excessive loft/garage stash that I have and produce some more. All comments welcomed. Andy
