  1. @hendie posted a fine RFI for his favorite SciFi movie, Forbidden Planet. I'm curious what are peoples' favorite SciFi movies? For me, it's Arrival (2016). I catch some new nuance every time I watch it. Next is Coherence (2013)--check it out if you haven't seen it! Both of these demand your full attention. How say you?
  2. Yes. While I do have Spitfire, Hurricane, Defiant, Lancaster, and Mosquito kits in the stash, I do like different models.
  3. An important site to bookmark.
  4. I did find some OOP kits in 35th and 48th, but, well OOP == $$$. I am thinking of a 1/48 resin Merlin and scratch building a hull.

    Hello Again

    Welcome aboard!
  6. Don't forget, Merlins also powered unlimited hydroplanes, a.k.a., really fast boats. https://thunderboats.ning.com/profiles/blogs/rolls-royce-merlin
  7. Yeah. The crime lab didn't need to dust for fingerprints to determine who committed the crime--at least one was always memorialized on the victim model.
  8. Ooh! I love the catenary in those cables! So many details are so well done. What did you use for the rigging there?
  9. That's right, I had seen pix from this group in the past. All 72nd RC. Dang! Youse are a truly impressive group!
  10. That's a big boat! What does she displace? My quick calc would be around 575#. I wouldn't have been surprise if you hauled it around on a small boat trailer. Probably easier to launch and recover that way.
  11. What a sweet trip down memory lane! Well built, far better than my attempts those decades ago...
  12. I'm thrilled to see this! 1/72 isn't my scale, but more C-47 love is always most welcome. I do have Welsh Models' 1/144 BT-67 conversion with the USFS livery; they also have one with the Kenn Borek Antartic livery.

    Hello!

    Welcome aboard!
  14. This looks fabulous! The chrome does fit the bill.
  15. This all looks very good! I'm curious, do you display the port side? I'm a stb'd man, myself. Hm,I wonder if there's a connection to writing direction? That was my 1st thought, too. The Bluejacket parts list for their USS Ward model lists 6x '4" ready service racks' and they're visible on the model.

    Welcome aboard!
  17. I like it! 'twould be nice to have this in 1/48. This isn't a contemporary vehicle. What is the time period for the layout? Those health and safety violations may not have been considered back in the day.
