  1. Ooh! This looks excellent! How did I miss this? I need to check out your WIP. That was my 1st thought too, but holding a bottle against my 1/48 vehicles, that is indeed the comparison.

    Greetings

    Welcome aboard!
  3. My only 1/35 are AA weapons. Those are some fine builds you posted! My efforts are fair to middling
  4. Welcome aboard! Wow, this is the 1st mention of HPC I've seen here.
  5. My display cabinet and stash tell a different story. 😋
  6. On to masking! Here is a contemporaneous photo of my subject. Here is CA's interpretation of that scheme. Unlike the profile, the photo shows the yellow on the horizontal stabilizer wraps around on the underside leading edge. Easy to do. But what about the yellow on the wing upper surface in the way of the fuselage. Is anybody aware of a contemporaneous photo like this to confirm or refute? TIA
  7. Welcome aboard! Mr.Color are lacquers; you would use Mr.Leveling Thinner. IMHO, Mr.Color are the best paint, but they require good airbrushing technique. For small details, I like AK Interactive 3rd Gen Acrylics, which brush very nicely. To be sure, others will provide equally valid recommends. I suggest you try what's readily available locally to figure out what works for you.
  8. The little 'one is looking fine, too!
  9. This looks excellent! Dang, those are some serious weights you added! 😱
  10. That's looking very good! Particularly that wing surgery Bravo! Trumpeter and Hobby Boss are nothing if not inconsistent. Their 1/48 A-6 is still best, I preferred their 1/48 F4F over Tamiya's, but I haven't seen Eduard's. Their 1/48 F-14 is still on the Shelf of Doom waiting for me to get over the trauma of that horrible intake trunk construction and the poor fit of all those removable panels, deployable flaps and slats. Tamiya's siren song does pull strongly at times. Amd well, 1/48 LCM-3 has a boatload of just made-up details.
  11. It's been a minute. @modelling minion, @marvinneko, @81-er, and @Courageous, thank you for the suggestions. It turned out that shaking it worked sufficiently well. I decided to push them all in, shake them all out, and then reshape the clear plastic to fit from the outside. In the end, I got very good at shaking the clear bits out. At least they're now somewhat consistent. As noted, and mostly out-of-sight anyway. After that fun, I primed it with Mr.Finishing Surfacer 1500 Grey and set about to fix the several defects. Finally, I re-primed with Mr.Finishing Surfacer 1500 White in preparation for the yellow wing upper surface. I found a couple of areas that need a little more work, but I think I can the base yellow and silver on RSN. Thanks for looking.
  12. It's clearly a very large cabinet, even if it won't fit q Mosquito! 😱
  13. Dang Was this a standard a special LOT mod? I have a Ju52 with the intent to make it into SP-AKX, which used Pegasus engines and 3-blade props.
  14. Oh, very cool! Completely satisfies my steam jones..
  15. That is truly magnificent! I followed the build, yet some of these photos had me wondering if you had added some 1:1 shots. Dang!
  16. Ooh, can this be built in Polish LOT livery?
  17. Ooh, a Lotus Elan +2! Love the red color. I had a blue '72 (?) Elan +2S. She was quick and the low ride made it feel must faster than it was. Sweet ride, but a lot of maintenance.
  18. This is coming along wonderfully! An engine-turned dash could be interesting...
  19. FWIW, your phone might has a "food" mode that does something like that. On my phone, this mode provides a resize-able rectangular focus area. Of course, the problem with this is your original photo is modified, vs. post processing a copy.
