  1. You'll need to get a web hosting service. There are many. I use https://postimages.org/. Niko Model makes a nice 1/350 resin kit; here's my build
  2. Nice!!!! I father commanded one of these in the USNR. It was his favorite ship.
  3. An IEEE article on the Ingenuity helicopter.
  4. If you do this, do not use any links in the email. Ask Google for the company's info or use a browser bookmark you already have. I get legitimate emails from service providers all the time. But I never, ever, click on links in those emails. I have a password locker with all that info, KeePass, which runs on my phone, tablet, and desktop. It has all those links.
  5. This. Even if the person and company name match. It's not hard to figure out legitimate names to make it look legit.
  6. Found a reasonable image of the mast, from Southern France in June 1945. And here's my result. A little heavy compared to the prototype, but it'll do... The kit's central mast was in 2 parts, lower (enclosed within the structure) and upper (sitting above the structure). I was concerned about the mast height to enable the blimp to sit level and trying to align those 2 parts. I replaced the plastic bit with Albion 0.8mm Albion tubing that runs the full length and 0.5mm rod. I can adjust the rod's height to get he right attitude. I'll also be able to drill a hole in the nose instead of relying on a butt joint. Thanks for looking!
  7. We're celebrating the event with Krispy Kreme "Mars" donuts! More seriously, I recall sitting with all of my entire elementary and middle school classmates, completely enthralled as we watched the Gemini and Apollo missions. My wife watched the Apollo 11 landing as a young girl in Poland. She retired from Boeing (née Hughes Space Systems) a few years ago as System Engineering Manager of some of well-known space projects.
  8. Nice! looking forward to seeing this built. I actually pulled this kit out yesterday, with Flying Leatherneck masks and the same Hypersonic resin, but figured there's no way I could have finished in time.
  9. O You know you'll like it! And thanks for the manufacturer reference, ! I didn't know about them. I have the mooring mast partially built. You can see a repair with Evergreen strip. The kit should have had 3 identical parts for the sides. Instead they molded 2 identical side parts and one mirror part. There are also 2 internal brace parts. Assembly was tricky to say the least--a lot of breath holding to get it together. Now that it's built, it's actually quite robust. This would have been so much better as a printed part... And here are the motors.
  10. @billn53, no final answer yet, but Santa Ana has an edge...
  11. Thanks @billn53! I'm hoping they add additional US dirigibles, like the SHENANDOAH, LOS ANGELES, or AKRON. The hull is done! The seams cleaned up nicely.
  12. @Dave Swindell, thanks for answering. So, the key is the fuselage styrene v. the clear PET or PVC? And I suppose this doesn't include injection-molded clear parts in injection-molded kits. Off to the lab for me!
  13. Very nicely done! All the more impressive in 1/72 scale!
  14. This is quite an unusual model for me, a USN K-type blimp, in 1/720 scale! I found this while trolling Hannants, where markings for a Santa Ana Calif subject caught my eye. Then known as the Naval Lighter-Than-Air Station Santa Ana, it was later MCAS Tustin, and is now used for a variety of activities. The location is about 22 miles from me. Anyway, here's the kit And here some finely detail diminutive resin (that's a quarter-inch grid) I'm torn between K-125, in local Santa Ana markings, and K-43, from Lakehurst, NJ, with that wonderful recruitment ad! My building speed is legendary, so I hope to have this done for the Anything But Injection GB just over a month from now...
  15. I hope @John Aero can shed some light on this. Liquid glue in the Glues section referred to M.E.K., which in my experience is a very strong and near instantaneously setting glue. How can it be applied while enabling the canopy to "be easily removed?" TIA -- dnl
  16. I've got a Revell 1/24 BMW Sauber F1 and 1/25 Monogram Aston Martin DB-4 that would fit.
  17. Just an observation, the rear bar on the fin flash seems consistent with the field surrounding the star.
  18. Very cool! I didn't know they did one of these!
  19. @keefr22 and @Col., spinner it is. The Zero is done! The Tomcat's ordnance is done. True to the movie, it's all inert The Tomcat just needs its ordnance. One of pilot's name stencils decided to disappear, so I removed the others, which is per the movie. I like that scene too. It shows the Zero vainly trying to hide in the clouds as well as the attitudes of the aircraft. For the Tomcat to slow down enough to trail the Zero, it needs a substantial angle-of-attack. I've been thinking about the display, and I think an inline formation with the Zero in level flight and the Tomcat in high angle-of-attack could be interesting.
  20. I fully agree! I too always stir paint, but I use these manually-powered stirring things.
  21. Here's the beginning of the Zero's spinner. Clear disc or just the spinner? I'm leaning towards just the spinner, like this:
  22. Oh, that's wonderful! The presentation fits perfectly.

    Tail Wheel.

    Oh, that's very cool!
