  1. If you mean the C-117/R4D-8. Super dak If on the other hand you mean the turbo prop conversions........ Heritage Aviation do both the Dart Dakota and the south African rebuilds for the Italeri kits Classicplane from Germany also do a Dart Dakota, Conroy Triturbo Three conversion, XCG-17 assault glider, Nakajima-Showa L2D (Tabby), C-47 NASARR ( Starfighter Nose ) and a war time Luftwaffe/Lufthansa set. All based on the Italeri kit Classicplane kits can be found here Classicplane kits but he is rather awkward to get in contact with. Ive tried emailing him a number of time, but he has never replied. Lonewulf models carries a small stock for now,and is where I got most of mine.
  2. That it Colin. Blow my cover LOL.
  3. I cast them in 72nd scale if thats any use? If thats the scale you want, Just PM me and we can talk "Brass tacks"
  4. there may well be, but I have to admit I have not looked down the white metal route for the main gear my self.
  5. Some how I had a feeling it was you Steve lol see ya at Hudders mate:)
  6. That kit can be used for the canopy. Althou I have used one off the Airfix Eurofighter/Typhoon on one of the two ive built to date. The nose gear is off a Tornado, and the main gear needs the main gear off a Heller Mirage IV, modified from twin to single axle. Shares in your preferred putty brand are also advisable. Heres a photo of the resin parts Not my photo, It was taken by one of th what if? sig lads. And this was the very last one from batch 1.
  7. My mate the Wooksta is a popular chap And yes if I get 15 or more firm commitments I will think about re doing the molds for a 2nd batch. Be warned, its not a complete kit, you dont get any under carriage, Canopy or pylons. The spares box will need raiding.
  8. Looks more like Polyurethane resin, rather than Polyester. If its the same stuff I saw them selling at SMW10, its the same as I use relabeled by Sylmasta under their own brand name. Either way it will behave in the same way as any after market resin sets you may have used before now. usual resin safety precautions ect.
  9. Going by the product info on your first sylmasta link, I would go for the first product listed. I wouldnt bother with the clear resin (the 2nd item), that would be more usefull for water in diorama's. Just follow the instructions and the mold making should go ok. Like wise with the resin. Expect failures in the casting, you will soon work out why resin kits and extras are priced the way they are. Before you do any mold making or casting, raid the local pound shop for a box of cheap disposable latex surgical gloves and a stack of plastic cups to pour mixtures into. You will go through them like no body's business. And if you havent got one to hand, get hold of a fair sized tray, to do the mixing and pouring on. Your bound to over fill the mold, so expect it to over flow, the use of the tray will soon be self evident. hope that is a help
  10. I had a Stratos 4 boxing of the kit arrive from Japan yesterday. Yeap, you do get the option to build a real one. And as its intended for genral release, it should be a lot easier to obtain this time around. That now makes ten 72nd scale TSR-2's in my stash. With another Stratos 4 boxing on back order with a well known retailer. Ive built 5 Airfix TSR's since the first release, and prior to that half a dozen resin examples.
  11. That would be me then. Yes I did do a "basic" garage kit of the P1216 many moons ago. I still have the master, but no plans to re do the molds any time soon.
  12. Ive been quietly watching this build. Looks like quite a few of you have turned to the dark side. Well done to the winner and runners up. Every one is welcome to drop by our stand at any UK show that we attend to say hi or even join in the mayhem. We dont bite.......Honest we dont. Martin H leader of the What if? SIG
  13. Only a few Andy? Ill be in the market for at least one EAP Colin:) The casts look rather good.
