  1. Thanks everybody! Unfortunately I don't have this kind (or any kind) of Beetle in my carage, as dnl42 asked for the prototype. Wheelie bars would be great (Rob G) but this box doesn't offer them at all. They would have to be built as scratch, as I want to keep this box stock. I think my interest is drifting already towards another project. Thanks for the tip though!
  2. Hello! This VW Beetle is built by using only the parts from the original box (Union Memorial Collections) that includes also 426 Hemi engine and other stuff. I used the big tires to give it some grip and from the part frames I built the turbo and all the intake/ exhaust systems. Only the blue decals are taken elsewhere. I cut them in several pieces to get them sit well around the Beetle body. Pink paint is from a rattle can, then added some clear varnish.
  3. Thanks! I have the real thing waiting for the summer adventures again.
  4. Thanks everyone! The towing T1 Bulli is there to be inspected closer too. Here you can see the methods I used while building my T@b. This is the start and then more bits and pieces. Thanks for looking!
  5. Hello! This is the VW Van that is built to tow the T@b caravan, that I put here earlier to be inspected. I planted a V6 between the front seats. The engine comes from GNX Buick, but instead of the stock turbo it's got a bigger one with the intercooler behind the front bumper. The air intake is behind the VW badge in the nose. The big 4 wd axles come from a Ford or Chevy pick up, they look like Dana 60 or something big anayways. The radiator locates where the original engine is supposed to be, in the back. The interior had some modifications too. There is a two seater sofa, a table, TV and a refrigerator. And the dinner is served too. On the roof lies a solar panel, tv-antenna, spare tires and a wind spoiler. Lots of the parts are scrath built. Comments are welcome as always, thanks. It's a bit hard to see, but the dash is not original either This is the engine cover with the automatic shifter and the white box is the refrigerator
  6. Hi there. This is a model of my little caravan, that I pull around Finland during my summer holidays. I've had it now 4 years, and I'm pretty sure it's going to stay with me for many years to come. So I wanted to make a model of it too. No kit available, so I took a big pile of Evergreen plastics and started cutting and glueing. Some minor errors and imperfections are visible, but I'm quite happy with the end result. VW T1 with Buick V6 turbo +intercooler and 4wd would be a suitable tow car for that tiny caravan.
  7. Thanks Steve! I will put some other models here for you to see.
  8. Here is another body modification from my shelf. I took a Buick GNX body, cut it in half, made it 5 mm wider and then built the rear section and the nose from Evergreen plastic. The dash, the steering wheel and cargo compartment are scratch built. The wheels are made of 3 different wheels cut in parts and some scratch too. Engine bay has some self made parts too, as well as the roof rack.
  9. I trying to put some photos but dont quite get it...
  10. This is my first post to this forum. I'd like to show you, what I did to a Ford Thunderbird nascar body. We have this Finnish Car Magazine called Mobilisti, that introduced an exotic Ford 351cid V8 powered luxury sport 2 door sedan. Naturally there is no model kit to build this vehicle, so I took a Ford Thunderbird nascar body and made a lot of modications so it ended up looking like this. Small section of the roof is untouched original plastic, otherwise it's practically scratch built. All the interior too is self made. The engine didn't get a lot of details, just basic wires etc. The engine block is somethingsomething V8, I just made the valve covers to look like 351 Ford style. The rear axle is from Jaguar E- Type.
