Buried in the stash- Italeiri Thunderflash
Marklo replied to Marklo's topic in Republic F-84 Jet fighter series STGB
At this stage just some bench time 😀 Hmm there’s a thought I don’t have any star fighters in my collection. Would be a cracking STGB for 2025……. -

Mbwahhaaa ( my best attempt at an evil laugh) for you I am the modelling gods or to put it another way as hosts if the GB Steff, myself and Enzo are the ones who make the calls.

Welcome to the GB. Nice scheme I could see myself err borrowing it for my KT…

Looks well below 25% to me.

A Bit of a Lull (the war is over... now what do we do?)
Marklo replied to gingerbob's topic in Group Build Chat
Didn’t notice this at one at first. I’m thinking Berlin air lift. Count me in. -
GB Ideas Brainstorm - Orphan ideas in search of a host.
Marklo replied to Bertie McBoatface's topic in Group Build Chat
Like the first two, me being me I’d go for multi wings to bring in triplanes and quads. The action one could be good as it’d encourage a few mini dioramas. I’m thinking jets taking off with RATO and a flame trail or seascapes with plenty of spray. -

Welcome Steff.

Welcome Keith. Lovely kit, I must admit I considered buying this more than once but seeing as it cost nearly the same as my four kits I passed on it.

A Porsche JagdTiger (but it wasn't fast)
Marklo replied to Retired Bob's topic in Panzer VI Tiger STGB 2
Afaik there were two manufacturers Henschel and Porsche one of whom built with 8 sets of roadwheels each side and the other with 9 sets. I must admit I too love the look of the Jadgtiger but ( and you should read Tigers in the mud for this) it wasn’t built in huge numbers, it’s ammo was so large it was supplied in two pieces that had to be loaded separately which the crews hated and its combat debut and history was abysmal, with one being destroyed by a Volkesjager group because they thought it was a Russian tank and most of the rest being utterly ineffective because of the lack of experience of the crews entrusted with the new tank.- 21 replies

Welcome Pat.

I’m mostly Tamiya but in Humbrol I’d go 93 desert yellow 30 dark green and 70 brick red. Tamiya would be XF-59 desert yellow or XF-88 dark yellow, XF-61 dark green and XF-9 hull red.

I’m a sucker for SEA camo. Hmm not quite the right model, but we’ll see….. -
A Quartet ( maybe even a Quintet) of tigers
Marklo replied to Marklo's topic in Panzer VI Tiger STGB 2
Well you know in for a penny and all that. I’ve probably been hanging with @Enzo the Magnificent too much 😀🤪 -
Found while searching my stash for Tigers, I had completely forgotten buying this. Haven’t decided on a scheme yet but (if applicable) I fancy something in camo not another NMF.

I thought I’d put a placeholder thread up ( lead by example and all that) I shall be building four ( possibly five) Tiger variants. My four definites. The possible fifth, which if I build it will be a combination of resin copies from the four kits and scratch built bits….

Well it’s 24/7 until the end of June no pay but you could offset it against money earned at a rate of 0%. But you would gain the love and respect of your fellow modellers 😀 it should that be 🤪?

Bought off eBay several years ago and perfect for this GB. The sprues and moldings and I’ve just realised the glazing is missing. Not too much of an issue for the cabin windows as I was planning on using Kristal Klear after painting, but I will have to replace lace the cockpit glazing which will necessitate done woodwork and molding.
