An engine painted with Dark iron ( granted it’s a Bentley BR2 but very little will be visible between the cowl and the spinner, it’ll be out little secret ). A little bit of dusting then some dry brushing and it’ll be ready for assembly. I’m particularly pleased with this as it’s from my first attempt at resin casting.

My mistake I see it’s already on the 2021 GB calendar.

Yes With my WIP shelf do full it is beginning to encroach on my (small) shelf of doom amongst which the most prominent is the pink thing, which just needs rigging and done minor assembly to be finished. Probably fodder for the next KUTA GB if it happens.

It’s a Handley page Ho O/400 that was converted to an airliner. Almost finished I thought the pink scheme was so much nicer than PC10

I think so. Afaik a number of DR1s were captured but all had similar paint schemes. I have quite a few builds to progress before I get to this one in earnest.

I’ll probably scrape the end of the GB for most of my 109s but what with some family crises and major DIY projects I’m feeling a bit under time pressure, so I thought I might ask ( plead ) for a modest extension past august 29th, a week would help a lot.

After a bit more fettling, fiddling and furtling all sixteen primed and only one or two need a bit of remedial work. Bulges and bumps next followed by preshading. Should be painting soon.

Came across this while surfing the interweb and thought I had to build one, I may even attempt the digital camouflage. Step 1 as the plan is slightly bigger than A4 I resorted to good old pen and paper drawings to scale it to 1/48. I’ll mold it as wings, tails, booms and fuselage/canopy so quite a bit of woodworking to follow.

There are several accounts of ground crew pouring fuel into an ‘empty’ container and blowing themselves up. There were also many taxiing and landing accidents caused by the field combining unexpectedly. The fuels as and of themselves weren’t that bad. It was more that they react together explosively. Z stoff was potassium permanganate or sodium permanganate both reasonably benign, mixed with water T stoff was concentrated hydrogen peroxide. Which can be caustic. I don’t know if the statistic is true but it’s said that the 163 killed more Germans than Allies.

Double Japanese build! Ki-44 and Ki-84 -- 1/72

Absolutely. How many times do you see people post mojo restorers, myself included. Take a break or try something totally different. It’s been a weird eighteen months and everyone is showing the strain. Oh and if it’s any consolation I do remember the sig. -
Or do you mean the duct tape on the vacuum box, that doesn’t go anywhere near the grill so it doesn’t get hot. And of course it brings me to one of my favourite quotes. ’Duct tape is like the force; it has a light side and a dark side and it holds the universe together’

Can’t believe this is upon us already. I’m just finishing up my last less than tenner build and trying to get my fleet of Me109s painted, not to mention my Bristols and French planes. Still im looking foward to this and have a second 1/144 phantom on the way for the GB.
