  1. That's just really, really nice. I like the subdued shine on it.
  2. She's a beauty. I can't see anything wrong with it.
  3. I don't know how you get this all done so quickly, it's just impressive. I keep saying that, but you keep putting out these updates as well, I'm running out of vocabulary. It all looks fantastic. Not surprised you ran out of material, you've probably depleted stocks in the whole of California 😄 You'd better start stocking up on primer and paint as well!
  4. Thanks CC! Well, despite its clunkiness, I like the Fuso as well because it looks different from your typical European truck. But the build was terrible so it doesn't hold a special place in my heart, so to speak 🙂
  5. Alright, progress. Paint was thrown at it today. Sky grey, with a base of red brown (which you can sort of see in real life). I think the colours look good together. This is a good base for weathering. The smaller parts were painted as well.
  6. A wonderful pair, and what a cool display!
  7. You and me both, and with some pretty nasty hacking and such, I think we're good on both sides. I got some bolts on as well, and with that I'm finally ready for paint. That will be for tomorrow, probably.
  8. After taking some more measurements, I found that it's a compound error. First, those two beams running the length of the box are off center by 1 mm, which means the box sits 1 mm more to the left than it should. Then, as it turns out, the rear axle isn't centered correctly either, unfortunately in the other direction, adding 1 mm to the problem. So that's the wheel sticking out situation explained. I've decided to cut off the right side hubs (I already did), glue back my mudguards (about to do that), and just make the wheels fit by trimming the hubs on the side where they're glued to the axle.
  9. I've been working on this a little bit, on and off, when I had time. First, I finished the mudguards. I then cut off the lower rear part, which should be fastened to the chassis separate from the main part which should be fastened to the box. Also finished the subframe. The round hole is there for the trailer coupling. It just needs bolts... a lot of them. Yay. Anyway, two steps forward, one step back. Or maybe even two. On one side, the wheels fit under the mudguard very well. On the other side, not so much. That doesn't look right. I took the mudguards off again before the glue could set. You can see the problem here. The two main beams look centered when compared to the line I drew, which should be the center of the floor. But the mudguard on the right is closer to the beam than the one on the left. And indeed there's a difference in size between both sides, when measured from the outside of the beam to the lower outer edge of the box, where that sloping beam is. My guess is they're angled differently so the outer edge is not where it should be on the one side. I'll have to think about this a little bit. Either come up with a way to modify the outer beam (Thicken it? Cut it and move it?), or come up with a different type of mudguard.
  10. I've never been a fan of the scoop, but it does look different and that is one very nice paint job!
  11. Nice work. The modified deck didn't look "off" to me before, but it does look better now. Glad I could help 😉
  12. Love your work Nick, that's perfect scratchbuilding. Tanks look amazing.
  13. What a great set of builds there John! All the best with your recovery.
  14. Working on the mudguards. Should be something like this. I will attach them to the box, like so. The outside edge is tapered out a little. And after some cleanup we have this. Two of them no less. Mounting provisions on the tipper body. And with a little taping to see how they end up... we're good! I think I'll extend the rear part downward and attach the lights and such there. This means I have to make a cut somewhere in the sloping bit so the lower part holding the lights can stay with the frame, otherwise the rear wheels are in the way when the tipper is up.
  15. Oh yeah that's nice. Looks right, on your build anyway, which is what I usually look at... accuracy, not so much . That rack, well, you can certainly store a whole bunch of work gloves in there. It looks interesting, that's what matters with this build I think. Throw some ropes in there or something, it doesn't look like it would have the strength to hold a lot of chain.
  16. Awesome work as per usual. You're flying with this thing dude. I think that roof rack might be sitting just a tad high though. But man, this thing is coming together.
  17. Phew, that's amazing, and so well presented too. I'm amazed that you routinely keep producing these masterpieces. Wow!
  18. Lovely work Colin, and a varied collection it is indeed.
  19. Oh, nice! Impressive 3D work, that makes a lot of difference from scratching the lot! I have something similar planned for a square body truck, so this build is right up my alley 🙂
  20. That's very tidy, well done. Love the paint. Welcome to the forums!
  21. You still managed to get a nice paintjob on the P-43, the metal finish looks good and you could always throw a wash at it.
