Mini art LGOC-B type British 3T lorry
JeroenS replied to Redstaff's topic in The Golden Age Of Transport GB
This is a nice little truck. I had my eye on it for this GB, but went for something else eventually. Also, looks like this is a good kit to start your MiniArt experience, if you've never built one 🙂 -
Yep, they're awesome. I have a DM 600 in the stash, it's a beauty.

OK, back on this again. I've been picking away at the Mack for the past couple of weeks, really just 10 minutes here, half an hour there. I didn't take any pictures during that time. I started working on the cab yesterday evening, and this morning before work I already had something worth showing. First though, the chassis, I completed the engine and glued everything I could in place. Fit, still very good, a little bit vague in points but I found 1974 stamped on one of the components so what do you expect. I'm from 1971, getting a bit vague myself so the kit is forgiven. I really think, taking its age into account, this is a great little kit. The cab goes together quite well too. The back wall is not glued in yet, I think it'll help with painting the inside. Not sure yet, I may just glue it in, there's plenty of open spaces to stick an airbrush into. That colour is terrible though. I'm not for coloured mouldings at all! The nice part is, that this whole contraption easily fits on the chassis without any hassle. I'll start on the bed next so we'll have all the major components ready.

I'm sure you'll figure it out Nick. But darn, that bed and those ramps look awfully good. -
Hello Christian, I'm assuming stl files are for 3d printing? Well, as you can see in the first post of this thread, this is a resin kit from Balaton Modell.

Nick, awesome work as usual. Man, I can keep saying that it's such a cool rig.... so I will. What a cool rig! -
It sure does!

I would definitely call this "acceptable" myself But, I know the standards you set for yourself! Acceptable to you is perfection to others 🙂

Oh yeah, that'll work! That would be a nice addition to the Blitz for sure!
-
A pickup would be nice, love those. I found that Revell's 1/25 scale kits lend themselves perfectly for a Blitz Build.

That's great news! I'm sure you meant the car body, which is also great news, of course. Did you mean to show a picture to go with that? I'm glad you are the way you are and you're not giving up, this project deserves a finish!

Well built! And a very nice collection too. -
Great little van, the white and grey combo just screams "utility". Nice touch with the clothes line and the wood in the cargo space.

It's been a while since I glued any plastic. I've only managed to complete 1 kit so far this year, and that was one I started years earlier. I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things with this build, a GB is always nice because it has a deadline, and I kind of need that sometimes. So far, I'm liking the way this kit goes together. For a 1976 kit, it's very nice, everything fits. I've started on the chassis and it's easy to get square and such. The rear axle is chain driven. Some nice detail there, including a bit of sag on the chain and bolt heads in places where you'd expect them. Old fashioned lamp on the back. It's time to start working on the engine.

Nice work! Man, you've done a great job on painting the fruit there as well! -
Oh wow, that's looking so authentic. The paintwork is next level on this.

Dude, don't mention me like that, you scared me, I thought I missed the Blitzbuild start! I have quite a few options actually. I'm leaning towards something 1/35 scale this time... That Bedford tanker is really taking my fancy.
