12 days and both aircraft are almost completed, nice job. Did the guns give you fit problems when you tried to attach the gun covers?

1/32 Revell Heinkel He 162A-2
Sturmovik replied to runeha's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
I bought this kit twice and never got to finish it decently, yours looks really nice. -
@Homebee I´ll put the link on top, thanks for sharing it.

I didn´t read any release datem, but judging for the sprues photos, I´d say the model is soon to be sold. The link was a redirection to another Facebook page with the same image, so you didn´t miss anything.

For both Mikes, I´ll follow both and buy one, I instantly liked the aircraft as soon as I saw one built in Modelling Madness. It´ll look great together with my Fw 190s (two more incoming).

What weights do people use for tail sitters?
Sturmovik replied to pizzapaolo's topic in Modelling Tips
Depends on the model, when I built Trumpeter´s Me 262 in 32nd I used one 100 grams weight cut in half with a razor saw and glued to the forward bulkhead with epoxy glue, but when I build Hobbycraft´s Skyhawk, I used smaller, lighter, and cylindrically shaped weights and also cut with a razorsaw. -
@LanceB I don´t know much about photoetch, so I can´t comment much on that area.

Photo taken originally from Facebook, this link was provided by @Homebee. If I ever come across with this kit, I´ll make sure to buy one. Or two. The image shows masks for the canopy and wheels, photoetch parts (Eduard maybe?), and a decal sheet with options for eight aircraft (you can´t leave aside Erich Hartmann, the ace of aces).

Corrected, the Provost and the T37 look similar. -
Airfix Ju87 Stuka 1/72 - Finished
Sturmovik replied to Mark4700's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Don´t let that setback your build, begin painting the model, and when the replacement arrives, you´ll only have to spend a couple of minutes on it before gluing it and finishing the kit. -
Here are some photos I took while I was visiting Santiago de Chile´s Museo del Aire y del Espacio. It can be easily reached by using the underground´s Line 6 and dropping off at Los Cerrillos station. The aircraft that greets you at the station, a Cessna T37 "Tweet" coded Black J-396: Aircraft exposed outside: Aircraft exposed inside: Aircraft exposed outside 2: Scale models: Somehow this photo ended up in 256x256: The "Remembrance Squadron" painting: The museum´s entrance: I hope you guys enjoy the photos.

I remember the mounting peg not having a lot of paint on it, but the hole was covered with paint, could that have been the reason?

Hasegawa 09798 Egon Mayer´s Fw 190A-5
Sturmovik replied to Sturmovik's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
I´m going to tell you the truth, not adding the Swastika is something that goes back to when I was younger (16 years old). I began building, and my mum didn´t wan´t to see the Swastika, so I never put it on the German aircraft I built. I also grew up with Revell Germany models, so it´s kind of sticked to me. Now that I´m 22, I understand where you´re coming from regarding accuracy, but combine what I wrote above and that I don´t want to have my main Facebook account suspended because of a "ToS violation" (thus leaving me out of my main account, plane spotting account, and modelling page), and you´ll get why I don´t add it.- 17 replies

Here are two photos I took while I was going back to MDQ´s airport for my return trip to Buenos Aires. Translated from this link: First flown in England on April 4th 1948. Assigned to the 4th Interceptor-Fighter Regiment (Regimiento de Caza Interceptora) as I-073. Flight of acceptance in Argentina on September 19th 1949. Transferred to the 3rd Interceptor-Fighter group and re-registered as C-073. Discharged on December 30th 1970 due to flying hours limit, being the Gloster with most flight hours on the Air Force. It´s now a gate guardian on the entrance to the BAM MDQ with the fictional registration of I-071.

Hello, As written in the title, would light colours (yellow, red, white, light blue) have a better grip to the plastic surface if I wet sanded the area to be painted with a fine sandpaper (1200)? I´m trying to find ideas to reduce the required coats of paint needed to fully cover some areas. Thanks.

I finished the aircraft yesterday, after fighting it a long way and cutting my finger. The model was originally going to be painted as Walter Nowotny´s Fw 190A-5, but I didn´t measure the yellow rear band correctly and had to start over to avoid making a mess. But, I learned my lesson, and I correctly measured the areas where the white were to be added, so their fit was perfect. Then, after decaling the entire aircraft, the right hand landing gear melted thanks to Revell Contacta, so I added some CA and backward pressure to hold it in place. I did the same with the pitot tube. I didn´t have these problems with the other two Fw 190s I built. I used the kit decals and the upper crosses from an Aeromaster sheet.
