After smashing my head against a stove an hour ago, I decided to buy the 1:48 Gloster Meteor F.1 from Tamiya and an Aerocalcas set for the Classic Airframes Meteor 4. The idea is to argentinise the Tamiya kit and make up a story of why a Meteor F.1 wound up in the Fuerza Aérea Argentina when we received 100 F-4s in the immediate post war.
I was supposed to get the decals today, but the seller (who kindly drove to my house to give them to me) made a mistake and brought the wrong ones, so I'll have to wait a bit more to get them (maybe this Saturday/Sunday).
I'll be picking up the kit this Saturday from Hobbies Morón. Here's the boxart (from the internet). Luckily Tamiya, thinking on us modellers, has included a nose weight to help with nose sitting.
Hope to see you guys join me on the build!

After some days off the bench due to a university trip to Mar del Plata, I was able to paint the 109. Colours used were Revell Aqua Africa Brown, Light Blue, Yellow and White.

HK Models has produced the Meteor Mk.4 in 32nd scale. Also Trumpeter has released a Harrier GR.7 in that scale.

You can recreate that with sheet plastic
You shouldn't need to scratch build something from a mainstream manufacturer, especially if the kit is 60£ and the mold was short shot. Airfix has to provide OP with a new part.

The aircraft is basically complete. Now to paint the camouflage.

That did it!

More progress on the 109. I have glued the fuselage halves together and added the cockpit and instrument panel from below. I also filled the hatches that weren't correct for the 109F as per Hasegawa's instructions.
Another thing I'll start doing is to fill and sand gaps. This is because the editor of Modelling Madness, the review page where I send my model reviews, told me he wouldn't upload my articles unless I started filling seams on my planes.
Here you can see the wings painted and with the radiator flaps glued. Test fit of the main wing shows a very tight fit. I'll sand the front and rear areas of it to make the wing fit.

If AZ keeps releasing interesting boxings of their 162, I may be tempted on getting one!

Another day, another Luftwaffe build from me. This time it's the Hasegawa Bf 109F-4/Trop in 1:48 with markings for Marseille's last Bf 109F before moving to the ill-fated G-2/Trop. The kit decals are cracked and are beyond saving, so I'll use a mix from Xtradecals, Academy and Hobby Boss ones.
Boxart:
This is a special edition with resin wheels. Regular ones are also included.
Original decals:
Before starting the assembly I decided to paint the small parts on the sprues.

Incredibly this is still Argentina's only frontline fighter
Due to unsolved territorial conflicts and a weapons embargo. Also the lack of will of the politicians to buy new material.

Bravo that man!
Thank you all!

I can finally call this build completed. A few problems with the decals being brittle and breaking when sliding them into the model, but everything turned out ok in the end.

Just the sliding canopy to add and then I'll be calling this build complete.

Enough for me. The bombs make the Mustang look ugly, even though it was used in the ground attack role.

Found this short video of Horbaczewski's Mustang Mk.III PK-G probably taxiing on an RAF airfield during the D-Day landings. It sports a full suit of D-Day ID bands on the rear fuselage and wings (with the fuselage ones being irregularly painted). The aircraft is also carrying two bombs under the wings.
Does anyone know if this P-51 flown by Horbaczewski flew as a pure fighter (no bombs, just the external fuel tanks) over the skies of Normandy?

Decals have been applied. They looked fine in the sheet, but were very brittle once I started applying them. I almost ruin the 13 and one of the crosses. Also, due to my carelessness, I sliced one of the walk lines in half, which I won't use, but annoying nonetheless.

The 190 was taped to prevent the wings from drooping. The elevators were also taped before to obtain a 90° angle to the vertical stabilizer.

Just glue the fuselage halves and the wingspars to the lower wing. I discovered later that the engine holder hadn't been glued straight, but I could pry it loose and reglue it correctly.

More progress before going to bed. Here's the propeller. It was painted RLM 70 with a silver cooling fan.
I'm also taking part on the "Brushes Only" Group Build on the Model Makers subreddit (on Reddit). The GB began this week and lasts until December of this year, so there's plenty of time to post there. The basics of that GB is to paint everything by brush (you can spray a primer though). You only need a Reddit account, join the subreddit (no waiting time), and begin posting. Hope to see you there!
Here's also the cockpit and the fuselage halves. The cockpit doesn't have the best fit, it's a bit sloppy. I ended up epoxing the front part of the cockpit to the fuselage's front.

I started the 190 yesterday by painting the cockpit parts. Here's the instrument panel and the side consoles with the decals added. I used Mr. Mark Softer to make them conform to the irregularitiesof the parts.

The Start of Africa: H.J Marseille's Bf 109F-4/Trop

More progress has been done. I added the sand filter, exhausta and exhausts shields to the aircraft. The instructions indicated the sand filter should be painted in camouflage colour, but I liked the steel one more.
Decals came from three sources: Academy for the numbers, swastikas, kill markings and JG27 shields, Xtradecals for the upper and lower crosses, and Hobby Boss for the fuselage crosses.
