The yellow fin was most likely a commemorative design, so you should be fine if painting this Meteor without yellow. Here's a link with a photo of the aircraft with the yellow fin: https://abpic.co.uk/pictures/view/1133549

Focke Wulf FW 190 AXX best Model with air intake
Sturmovik replied to Markus3105's topic in Aircraft WWII
Your best bet would be to find Hasegawa's Fw 190A-5/U7 "Graf Special". It comes with the high altitude intakes in resin. You can also build a regular A-5 because it comes with the normal nose bulges. Edit: You haven't told us what scale your 190 is going to be. My suggestion was for an aircraft in 1:48th. -
Absolute mad lad. Good luck with the three Lancasters.

Here are the photos of my completed Fw 190D-9 in 1:48 from Tamiya. A kit that is buildable, but with some fit issues in the wings and fuselage. There're better alternatives to it though, in the shape if the Hobby Boss Dora family. That's all for now! Next model will be Italeri's 1:48 Mirage V Dagger. It has already been started, I drilled holes on the main landing gear struts to add metallic clips. This will hopefully improve the stability of the gear.

With the aircraft decalled and matt coated, it was time to put it on its wheels. Here's the aircraft on its back (again) after a quick repair job I had to do to the right landing gear leg (it didn't harden, it remained soft. So I added some CA). Only remaining thing to add are the clear parts, which have already been painted.

HPH 1/48 scale B-36 (is HPH still in business?)

Their page is still up, so I guess they're still trading. http://shop.hphmodels.cz/en/17-model-kits-in-scale-132 -
I finished painting the aircraft with Revell Aqua colours. I also followed Eduard's most recent instruction set for their Weekend Dora, which indicated RLM 81/82/76 for the fuselage, RLM 74/75 for the wings, and the red and white ID surfaces on the bottom. I first painted the bottom white, masked, and then applied the red. There was quite a lot of bleedthrough under the tape, so I went over it with white, making sure to give the lines a rough look, as if it had been painted in the field, just like in the real plane.

I detailed the cockpit as much as possible with what came from the box. IP and side consoles were painted in RLM 66 with black buttons and some red. I glued the cockpit to the fuselage from the bottom of if as told by Tamiya. I also test fitted the wings, and found out there were huge gaps in the union. Out came a spreader sprue, which helped a bit, but didn't eliminate the gaps on the front of the wings. Here you can see the gaps. Don't know why I ended up with them. Guess Tamiya kits aren't as fool proof as advertised

Finally, after spending last month studying for two exams that were scheduled for this Tuesday and Wednesday, I was able to start working on the Dora. Here's the propeller. Painted in RLM 70 with a yellow tip. I have also made some work on the main parts (didn't photograph them). The cockpit parts were painted RLN 66, wheelwelss and landing gear struts in RLM 02, wheels, instruments with some black and red to pick up detail, etc...

1/48 - Grumman F4F Wildcat family by Eduard - F4F-3/F-4 released
Sturmovik replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
It's one of Eduard's traditional Bunny comic strips. It has a Wildcat with the label "8/22," meaning the model will come in August of this year. -
I.Ae 33 Pulqui 2 Fuerza Aerea Argentina (195x?)
Sturmovik replied to Sturmovik's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
The Italeri kit is actually a rebox of the old ESCI model. Raised panel lines and some fit issues (wing/fuselage join). Decals are from Cartograf though, something that definitely redeems the kit. I have already built the Italeri Mirage IIIE with the parts for the EA (empennage extension), so I know the dos and don'ts for this kit. Best scale imo. Not too big, but not too small either.- 15 replies

I.Ae 33 Pulqui 2 Fuerza Aerea Argentina (195x?)
Sturmovik replied to Sturmovik's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Not really sure. I'll be getting Italeri's Nesher/Dagger, and I also have three German fighters and a Japanese one. I think my next build will be Tamiya's 1:48 Fw 190D-9. Mainly to use my paints and avoid them drying.- 15 replies

I was actually saving for the Tamiya P-47 in order to test my new Mr. Mark Softer on their decals, but this one showed up cheaply from a known Facebook seller. The seller warned me before paying him, that the kit was unbagged and with the decal sheet cut in half (but in top shape). Hopefully everything will be there. For now, I'll be posting photos of the boxart from the Internet, a single photo of the IRL aircraft, and some profiles of similar aircraft. Here you can see 431 after the War. It had the yellow ID markings on the tail. As other Daggers had yellow ID bands on the wings, and this one doesn't show the upper surfaces, it's safe to assume 431 also had the yellow bands on the upper surfaces of the wings. A profile from the Mirage IIIEA/Dagger from Kinetic. I'll guide myself with their instructions for the yellow bands. C-437, with the same yellow configuration on the tail and yellow bands. Here you can see 431's brother, 432. It was exhibited in the Museo Nacional de Aeronáutica in Buenos Aires. As of 2022, it's been removed from the hangar to undergo restoration works. Also, a profile from Dagger C-430 with turquoise bands. And finally, the boxart (taken from the Internet): I also have posted a wip thread for Tamiya's Fw 190D-9 in 1:48. I don't know which one to build when my holidays arrive.

I.Ae 33 Pulqui 2 Fuerza Aerea Argentina (195x?)

It isn't very known outside Argentina. I bet the Lavochkin La-15 is better known than this one.- 15 replies

I.Ae 33 Pulqui 2 Fuerza Aerea Argentina (195x?)
Sturmovik replied to Sturmovik's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
@Moggy that looks like a sweet kit. Are you planning ln building it soon? @Selwyn the La 15 does look more similar to the Ta 183 than the Mig 15.- 15 replies

Don't forget to use wedges between the top wings and the roof of the gear wells to eliminate a nasty step.

Hello guys, I bought a second 3D Pulqui 2 with the intention of showing it in a presentation I'll be giving at uni this Friday. The colour scheme is from Calcas del Sur's decal sheet, showing a possible scheme had the Pulqui 2 entered service with the FAA instead of the F-86F-40s ex USAF. Bottom photo shows the Ta 183, where you can see just how similar both aircraft were. Both were designed by Kurt Tank, the 183 at Focke Wulf, and the Pulqui at Instituto Aerotècnico. Colours used were Revell Aqua 05 White, 87 Dark Earth, 40 Black Green and 79 Grey Blue. Though not as detailed as mainstream models (this plane is very basic, only landing gear, wheels, pilot and two fuselage halves), 3D printing is good when you can't find a model of an ususual subject in any scale. Hopefully a local resin manufacturer will tackle the Pulqui 2 in 48th some time. However, since the kit is relatively cheap, I'll be buying a third one and paint it as the fifth prototype. This one was painted white with a red horizontal stabilizer and red cheatlines.

Anime and anime figures are popular in Japan (shocking, isn't it?). They're catering to the home market.

I guess we'll still have to get either the Hasegawa E with a conversion, or find the Hobbycraft kits. Either way, the early Skyhawk field is wide open (I even commented on Kinetic's Facebook about it and they liked my comment).

I'm guessing it'll be a Finnish aircraft because of the circular, darker colour over the wings.
