  1. Hi, looking for reference photos of PL124 while on Czech strength in Normandy for d day anniversary build.....any help would be great fully appreciated ๐Ÿ‘
  2. Hi, I picked up the 48th Longest day boxing from eduard....I believe there are photo/photos of F/Lt Lazenby's crashed ZD*C as that is the scheme I am looking to get completed but cannot find it as a reference? Also little bit confused as to why Squadron code is not at the front on starboard side? Did two two two carry squadron codes to rear as suggested?
  3. It's to go with a 48th scale Spit Vc...that's 35th scale but still might give it a go as I love the caunter schemes
  4. Now that is interesting, love the caunter scheme option......if it was only in 48th but I may have to get one of these anyway ๐Ÿ˜ฒ
  5. Tried doing a direct link to site but Dropbox wouldn't allow (or I just don't know). Only just started using it.
  6. Brilliant kitbashing there, love it!....I have a tamiya staff car half built. I'll have to look into the GMC.
  7. Brilliant reference piece that....love the individual stories that make up the complete picture. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/hlc4j9xz0s1kxynlf6p3w/image10.jpg?rlkey=788ih3a290312lblipn9heq8u&dl=0 This picture is amazing, love the spit in the background taking off.
  8. Hasegawa P40 E kits. With resin engines and gun bays and eduard photo etch. Figures are various makes but I must make mention of the reedoak figure that is so well cast. Airfix Bedford and a bit of a kit bashed jeep which i took liberties on as I wasn't sure any jeeps would have reached front line RAF units in the Desert at this point?
  9. I found some photos of a salvation army naafi on what was believed to be a chevvy body....either way we are thinking american with that style cab? I have a mk v spit that I would love to pair up with a possible naafi based on those pics.
  10. My last build has been sitting around a while as I've moved house a few times the past couple of years and only just settled in somewhere more fixed....its based on 112 squadron at landing ground LG91 in early Sept 42 before GA*C was lost on the 12/09/42 (was repaired and returned to strength in oct). I decided after reading 'shark squadron pilot' by Bert Horden and being amazed by the sheer stresses the kittyhawk pilots were under in the fighter bomber role and close air support that it would be a tribute to the fallen pilots of the Desert Air Force that supported the 8th army in the push from El Alamein. Hope you enjoy (apologies for the camera phone pics, I have no set up at home yet for dslr pics). https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/jujv88px242gwfgzgrsbd/20230803_154623.jpg?rlkey=nejo6k5prjga4o0sa4q62k2dk&dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/b1gptjpifsfv12v7ka2gw/20230803_154544.jpg?rlkey=m9wicpm8er49ydnj06wbgrn1c&dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/prahlac3ebc9rbjhq671f/20230803_154527.jpg?rlkey=zpgao2jl9vwy9murop6ii6hyp&dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/i5otyoavwqruvzaajdbqf/20230803_154505.jpg?rlkey=gppg37ulopltji2j1e7vehk0s&dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/xhsa2x2ac768cme2kkxe2/20230803_154420.jpg?rlkey=frt0yfo9c34eciy77tfj8twnb&dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/wytqzxzymuvpbe2n71563/20230803_154311.jpg?rlkey=ijmxff6iwrprajz258aazuzow&dl=0
  11. I'm hoping the two links I have posted work as it's my first time using drop box and the first time I have posted in a long time as just getting my feet wet again after a couple of years out....can anyone identify for me the RAF Naafi vehicle in the pictures and if there is a 48th scale equivalent out there or something that can be converted? https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/s8a93liouk3l087p83pm8/Screenshot_20230731-081101_Chrome.jpg?rlkey=tijy4zcu25qyu0x2e51bhdb1a&dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/sjaliiz518lrle6lehndo/large_000000_261493896784577.jpg?rlkey=h1xgtmz825fbiwnhxg3x1j4zx&dl=0 Many thanks
  12. Cheers guys, that expo one looks the way forward. I have a big enough window to vent from but it's just a noise concern for neighbours below and at back. Missing having the garden and garage space for working out in when it comes to spraying โ˜น๏ธ
  13. Hi, I'm currently living in a flat so my modelling has been winding down a lil after my last project due to a lack of space but I have a a couple of kits I'm desperate to get done so I'm looking at spray booths but having never used one I know next to nothing about what to look for or what to budget for one? Any info is welcome. Many thanks
  14. Ok, don't judge but sort of do judge but I had to with the steadiest fingers and finest paint brush paint in the sharkmouth.....what do you think? Passable? Botched?
  15. Cheers, the more the merrier at moment.....so gutted. I got some of the Mr mark neo stuff but it just doesn't touch the Japanese decals and microsol seemed stronger but it wasn't to be ๐Ÿฅบ
  16. The hasegawa decals I didn't want to use but ended up using as I had no alternative don't like microsol ๐Ÿ˜ณ one wing roundel went down fine and one didn't and now I'm having to repair the damage and the shark mouth on this one just seemed to break up and dissolve? Wasn't convinced about them in the box and now I see why! So now I gotta try figure out what I'm going to do? Note to self.....don't use hasegawa decals again!
  17. So, I was going to blog the whole build but I'm moving house again so things haven't been going to.plan and it's been a bit disjointed on the build. Needles to say I got everything primed and painted up and glossed and well on my way until.........
  18. Been tracing out and trying to cut stencils but struggling to get a decent cut ๐Ÿคจ on the tape. Even with a fresh 11 blade. I really can't use the yellowed hasegawa decals, does anyone have stencils for 112sqn or any spare decals that willing to part with?
  19. Hey, it's not a bad fit. This is the 3rd one I've made and you can get all the inserts lined up nicely but you do get a lil step that's unavoidable but lil bit of filler sorts it nicely. Just prime and recheck ๐Ÿ‘Œ
  20. So trawling the internet for inspiration for second kittyhawk and came across this courtesy of 112 sqn forum. its for GA*A with Sally v under cockpit. Anyone got any clearer pics of the Sally v marking or have any profile drawings of her? GA*R could also be an option as all at LG91? Also think I've decided to cut my own code templates as the hasegawa ones are really badly yellowed and unless I can come across some decent decals then it's the only option!
  21. Two closed up Kittyhawk and a Bedford mwd starting to take shape. Getting things lined up properly before closing has helped but still a fair bit of filler work so I need to prime to check repairs then sort any issues then I can get paint down ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ‘
  22. Cockpit all painted up and ready for fitting up into airframe and closing up. Time to dry fit that engine and see how it's going to work ๐Ÿคž
  23. So I've cut the panels and ended up having to sand a fair bit back on the port wing to get gun bays to fit but starboard side went in smoothly. Checked repairs with primer and got some colour down. Went for a mix of tamiya cockpit green and camouflage grey after looking through Life magazine colour photos of the Curtiss production lines and Flt Sgt Dennis Coppings HS*B.
  24. Hi all, so my typhoon fgr4 is on hold for a bit so ahead of what I was planning I have started putting some work in on my kittyhawk diorama. So it's to be 112sqn based at LG91 as it supports the 8th army on its push from el alamein. Only concern is the yellowing of the hasegawa decals and as such I'm in two minds how to go around the markings I have chosen but that's well down the line so I have time to decide? As for now it's onto the cutting and fitting while I await the airfix Bedford and figures from reedoak to arrive.
