  1. I remember this featuring in Finescale Modeller magazine back in the day! Very nicely done, it is a masterpiece. Good to see her once again.
  2. Outstanding! That diorama looks fantastic and the Corsair is simply stunning. That weathering looks spot on. I noted your issue with the VA Glossy Sea Blue. If I may, that colour is not for the 3 tone USN scheme but rather used on its own as GSB overall found later in the war. The colour for the 3 tone scheme you've depicted should be USN Non Specular Sea Blue, if memory serves me correctly. Might help explain why you weren't happy with it to start with. That aside, it certainly hasn't stood in your way. Those colours, and your finish, look superb! I don't think I've ever seen a 1/72 Corsair as good anywhere. Congratulations on the build and on your diorama too. Not easy to pull off convincingly in 1/72 but you've gone and done it. I had to check twice! Kind regards, Ash .
  3. Absolutely outstanding build and finish. Not to take anything away from the work displayed but it was not common practice, by the USAF in Vietnam, to carry both Sidewinder missiles and a bomb load on the F-4 inner wing stations, despite several kit manufacturers advising to do so. The USN F-4 Phantoms on the other hand did carry this mixed load on the inner stations. I never believed this to be true, until recently, but I've still not found a photo showing both missiles and bombs on the same station from this period of time. Again, suburb workmanship though.
  4. The big belly tanks were first used on 20 Feb 1944 and the M10 rockets were first used in Nov that year. The rocket tubes were found to create extra drag and affected stability but were used operationally. Source: http://www.56thfightergroup.co.uk/history.htm
  5. Gidday Tony, As a Kiwi it pleases me no end to see you’ve chosen the 75 Sqn bird. I never doubted you lol! Ake Ake Kia Kaha- (75 Sqn motto. Forever, Forever Be Strong) Best regards, Ash
  6. Outstanding work Marek. Beautiful effect on the rear fuselage, you’ve nailed the heat affected areas.
  7. Another beautiful build Tony, looks very nice. I'm about to start the same kit and my chosen subject is a Squadron mate. I'll be modelling KO-K from 2 Sqn. Love the way your's turned out. Cheers, Ash
  8. GiddayTony, Fantastic job on the Liberator, love the scheme, one you don't see modelled often. Also really enjoyed the history behind this aircraft and the sad fate of her crew. I prefer to model aircraft that have some history, a story to be told, with my own builds too so I really appreciated you writing this. Thanks for sharing Mate. Cheers, Ash
