  1. Despite any work required to make the parts fit , but it still looks a lot better that the Trumpeter version that's still gathering dust in my loft , the only issue I have with the kit is the main Undercarriage legs , they'll need replacing with something a little more substantial, but it looks a much better kit than the previously mentioned model
  2. I was just wondering this myself , I passed on the Saturn 5 when it first appeared , but if they do re-relese it , I might make the effort to get one , especially with the display options available now.. LUT Background
  3. Sweet Mother .. I thought the HK Lanc was impressive .. I Was wrong.. those pics are stunning ..
  4. Do we know for Certain that's a Re-box, agreed the chances are that it is .. but there's no harm in hoping for a new kit from Academy is there ?
  5. Paul Fisher has said that the Raedome will be available separately , as well as the revised corrected engine cowl, If you search on LSP, you should find a build of a FAA AEW Skyraider completed some years ago, as I recall it turned out to be a fairly simple job using a half drop tank for the upperfuslage bulge , in that case the raedome was taken from an Avenger AEW conversion
  6. Nice , looks my little man in Chine I buy from is going to be busy!
  7. That look really rather good, I might be in for this one , and speaking about FAA, wouldn't it look so good flanked by a decent Seafire 47 on one side , and a Hawker Seahawk on the other.. A man can dream!
  8. Now a Gemini Spacecraft in 1/12 to fit it into would also be rather welcome!
  9. Guys thanks , especially John , the dio in that link is breathtaking , its always slightly annoying however when your brilliant idea has been realized at level you can only dream about ! Still looks like I'll be buying a load of Balsa !
  10. Pardon the intruion of an aircraft modeller here , but I've deceided a change is as good as a rest , so I've just picked up the Italeri 1/35 elco 80' kit , and I'm looking for some reference material, specifically maintenance arrangements for them in the field so to speak I really want to build it as part of a dio, but I'm not keen on water lining the hull for a dock side dio. so I had this idea of a boat pulled up for maintenance on an improvised slipway , that way I can display the full hull , and I can add some interest to the scene using figures etc , so does anyone have any pointers to pics of such a scene? , I've found pics of floating dry docks , but that seems a little beyond my scratch building skills ! Even for someone like me who specializes in 1/32 list , this is a BIG project , and one I'[m really looking fordward to getting started on thanks
  11. Markey , I don't have the Revell kit , but I do have the experience of building 2 Tamiya P-51s, and more importantly , 2 Dragon Mustangs as well, and there's no way I'd be able to build that <insert a very rude word here of your choice> dragon kit again, I lost fingerprints sanding down the filler I had to cake on the wings to produce something that approximated to what wartime Mustang wings looked like, not to mentions awful propeller blades, ill fitting canopies and a cockpit that didn't fit , so as far as I'm concerned Revell has a fairly low bar clear to become the 2nd best 1/32 Mustang kit
  12. I'll stick with 32nd .. and as such , I'm very very glad we're being looked after so well!
  13. Now that's very very nice , yup I'll have at least one of them , probably more, and for goodness sake KH scale up the UH-1 to 35th .. please....
  14. there's been a 28 page discussion going over the differences between the B and D , the upshot seems to be that while the wings are similar , the B is essentially a totally new aircraft sharing few parts with the D.. have a look for yourself LSP P-51 discussion
  15. This is the sort of kit that hopefully will persuade more modelers to dabble in 32nd , I've built numerous 32nd Mustangs over the years , including 3 Tamiya ones, but this kit really has me excited , cheap, but beautifully designed and produced , and I'm certain there will a many more Revell Mustangs in my future I can feel it , The investment I made in the Xtradecal RAF Mustang sheet a few years back seems to have a really good investment!!! Bring on the K's - Until then I content myself with my very first LouIV!
  16. Please not HPH, not that I have anything against their kits , I'd love to be able to afford them , but I can't , and because a 32nd What ever exists in 32, no mainstream manufacturer will be interested in producing a cheaper version of it , so left hope the A-26 kit , if it does exists is a Revell/ZM product , that way I MIGHT be able to afford it !
  17. It looks to a typical impressive ZM product , but I'm suffering through a Revell 1/32 FW-190 F-8 at the moment , and I'm growing to appreciate the Hasagawa approach, Just the minimum of engine bits for it to look convincing , without the "fun and games" of assembling a radial engine in full, along with the rest of the of the internal framework, I still prefer to build my aircraft buttoned up ready to go , not spread out over a hanger floor in 100 bits - but that's just me! But the box art is beautiful
