  1. The Flightpath Hunter set has an extensive set of enhancements for the kit bays , but no one , as far as aI know produces a complete drop in replacent for the kit basy .. I've always thought that the Revell U/C bays were pretty good , and with a little enhancement and careful painting they looked pretty good
  2. That is beautiful, superb silver finish , and excellent work on the yellow bands , I know if had tried that scheme the bands would have been a total mess! I'm going to be getting on of these conversion sets , when the financial situation allows!
  3. I know all that , and yup the chances of an A-4 of A-7 being able to get in and out as quickly and efficently as a superbug are minimal , and they sure can't handle the mix of ordanace that modern aircraft can , but hey wouldn't a bug wouldn't look cool with a couple of MERs and 6 Mk 82's hanging off each of them. I know they wouldn't have a chance of hitting the same town as the target , let alone in through a specific window like a GBU-38 .. Ah well perhaps I've spent too long building Vietnam era subjects!
  4. That just looks like such a puny warload for such a capable aircraft! - I know you don't drop 2000lb GBU-12's any more , but 3x500Lb s , man , an A-4 could carry more .... Ah well such is life ,.. and as somone who can see a Trumpter 32nd Superhornet in my future , the info will be very useful!
  5. I forked out for the Xtradecal sheet , and it really does make a huge difference to the look of the 111 SQ model , I just wished Trumpter had made a better job fo the kit ...
  6. Thanks for that guys , the thought of loading her up with dumb bombs just seems wrong somehow , so I'll see if I've got some LGB's left over from a Revell Tornado , failing that , its over to Flightpath for some 1000LGB's and a Lightning pod from IsraCast
  7. With my Trumpter F-14 build lurching towards completion, thoughts turn my Revell 32nd Typhoon, and the thought of doing it as an FRG4 , configured as a swing role aircraft , now Paveways are the obvious choice But Storm shadows are SO Cool , So have they been cleared for carriage by the Typhoon , if so , which stations would be likely to carry them ? Failing that , a pair of 1000lb LGBs , and a lightning pod I guess.. any other ideas... anyone?
  8. Beautiful build - and its just firmed up my resolve to load up my Typhoon as a swing role aircraft , Bombs and Air to Air , with a targeting pod thrown in for good measure
  9. Well having sat in in an MG TB , the immediate post WWII version of the Pre War MG TA - I can tell you that they were SMALL cars, (I'm over 6 ft so most cars seem small), but by to-days standards they really are tiny vehicles as for 1/32nd Airfield Equipment - bring it on ....
  10. Hi there - as yet there's nothing specifically for the Revell kit, the Eduard sets for the Trumpter kit can be used to some extent , interior and seat are great , and there some usable bits in the Exterior set .. But not yet , but I'm sure we see Revell specific sets before long...
  11. My Song , those additional pics are astonishing , the detail level there is simply unbelievable , if the final kit , what ever the scale is going to be a must have! - amazing just amazing ..
  12. I've got the Revell kit , and the Eduard colour PE for the pit , and it looks as tho' it'll fit with no issues, ditto the set for the seat , the external set is not that useful I think ,
  13. IX - damm that's a beautiful GR-4A pic , .. looks like another GR will be crossing my desk at some stage ..
  14. Thanks for the heads up Jennings. I had a hunch things were moving on this project when pics of the resin components showed up in SAMI this month , those look like great marking options , and yup I'll be in the queue for one of these , thank Paul for making 32nd modellers like me very happy!
  15. Nice to see it fly , despite it being so late , BTW how much do you want to a test pilot with the name Strongman!
  16. I want my Xmas present and I want it now !..... anyone seen the kit breaking cover , I know its due this week.. isn't it?
  17. What a great idea , my approach to this one was going to be sourcing one of the Revell/Hasagawa spit I/II with the engraved wings , they're a better starting point for C/E conversions since they're already engraved , but you're approach is brilliant .. (mental Note , Order another PCM Spit!)
  18. Beautiful models guys , it looks as though airfix have found there niche , good uncomplicated kits , with the potential to be built into excellent models, However as regards the Hawk , that aircraft is just calling out for 32nd - I can't really work in 72nd any more , just too small for my hands and eys.. and a 32nd Hawk would just be a perfect size.. Hmmm you can dream I suppose !
  19. Nah .. I've scratched by 32nd Scale Late model spitfire itch over the last couple of years , A XIc based on a Paragon conversion, a PCM XIc, XIV based on Radu's conversion, and a XVIusing the Cammett conversion, so my enthusisam for the Spit has died for the time being . no Tamiya spit in my future , but a decent F-14D AAH that's a different story And to bring it back on subject the thought of doing a decent modern tooled Hurricane woo hoo - i'll be having a few of them ! (oh and no German WWII in this house thanks!)
  20. For those of us building in the One True Scale - its been a great , year .. and long may it continue , (except can anone spare £500 or so to complete my xmas shopping! (Trump f-14 d/F-18E/Av8B/Tamiya spit/Airfix Mossie)
  21. Well if you want a negative remark , spening time checking the pics of the completed one at Telford, against my reference material , the nouse is just plain wrong, too bulbous , and just messed up , the basic AV-8B had a fairly delicate nose , nothing like the one in the kit i'm afraid ... (ok , I've built more Trumpter models in the last 3 years or so than any other manafactures , so i'm not gunning for them at all - it's just that they appear to have gotten it wrong , I hope the GR-7 is better in that respect !)
  22. Well if you planning to do this .. To produce one of these .. Frankly I'd rather cut up a £30 odd PCM Spit , rather than Tamiya's masterpiece ... but that's just me ..... (Radu's conversion and a PCM IXe - ok its not perfect , but hey it Looks like a XIV )
  23. Its still the cheapest way to do an F-14D in 32 , starting from scratch , total up the cost of a Tamiya Black Knights boxing , add in a new accurate resin pit, (black Box?), then an airframe conversion ,(legend for example), Then factor in the time to re-scribe the Tamiya model, and the cost of new decals and its Way more than £120, and that's before you think about accurate weapons, and dropping the flaps that Trumpter has included , deployed flight refulling probe (another Lagend extra) The Trumpter F-14 would need to be REALLY bad before I go down the Tamiya road again, (I'm the vetern of 3 Tamiya F-14 builds !)
  24. I was trying last night to work out if the Typhoons at MPA are the most sophisticated military aircraft in the southern Hemisphere .. I suppose Venezuala and their Su-30's are the closest rivals ..
  25. reading between the lines of Marcus's post - it looks like the spit is going to be on a par with the Tamiya Zeros - if ithat turns out true , then to-day is a very good day to be a 32nd scale modeller !!!!
