  1. Thanks Stebos, I just realised yo uput the scale in the title , helps if I actually read it!
  2. I used my trusty BIG file to hack the nose down, it works a treat in times like this. Thanks Steve, and a Happy one to you as well. we had a quiet day if you can call running around getting the older boy toa softball game and then fixing a noisey toilet cistern We did get out for a nice feed at a steakhouse in the evening though. I think I have gotten over the difficult part of the build, the rest should be a down hill run. I will keep you all updated.
  3. With all the talk about the Airfix F-27 reissue I have started one of mine. I will sand all the detail off, it is hard to keep it intact with the sanding required. I have removed the undersized tail fillet here and will replace with a resin part, the replacement is still not the right size but I am not worrying about it (it is still a little short). I have also filled the cabin window openings with epoxy and superglue instead of using the undersized transparency pieces. I am using an aftermaket decal that has cabin windows on it so I am not concerned about keeping the openings clear. The replacement fillet is in place here as are the replacement intake scoop and the fairing behind the horizontal stab mount. Some more filling has been done since this shot was taken. Here is the dissappointing part of the kit, the new radar nose. You would think the guys that did the tooling would make an effort to at least get the nose shape right! In the left hand picture the nose has been attached, you can see the bulge after the join. I think it must be the AEW version that Fokker proposed to the RAF is using the leftover Nimrod radomes on. The nose is actually very pointed. I have tried to reshape it in the picture on the right, fortunately the new nose plastic is quite thick so a fair bit of material can be removed. Here is a side shot of the nose after a lot of filing. Back to the bench...
  4. I like it, what scale is it? Like you other models this is another nice effort!
  5. Me neither... and I can tell you the wing was not the straightest either. Nice job Triumph.
  6. Great job Julien, yours looks great. Your collection of CAC sabres will look great when finished I am sure
  7. Very nice finish! I like Canberras with a bit of character
  8. THanks for that, I am not sure if I will do my -300 gear up or down at the is stage.
  9. Nice one! Perhaps you could load up the forward part of the weapons bay with some torpedoes made from a some sort of heavy metal rod? I did this with a 1/144 P-3 I built years ago. I fashioned a couple of roofing nails to look like torpedoes and it was enough to keep the nose wheel on the ground.
  10. Mike, If you don't have any luck with Ant I have a spare (no box though). Though postage from OZ might be an issue. PM me if you want. Oh and you 737 looks great!
  11. Great news on the Valiant, might have to turf my Contrail one.... Perhaps the new big'n is a Lightning?
  12. Nice work Jet! How did you extend the hump? And can you tell me what you did to the landing gear to modify it?
  13. Looks good Ollie, I have these sets too. Are these newer boxings? I have some older ones and not having looked at them lately am wondering if the glazing was originally included with them?
  14. Been working on mine and it certainly is an old Airfix Kit! Mark has done a great job to make it look like that!
  15. Great conversion! Something I will try one day, though I will use some resin wing folds I got from Argentina of all places.
  16. Nice job Chris! I love the old Hivis schemes. Yours has turned out a beaut!
  17. Hey Shaun, great job on the Harrier Like you other builds I like the way you finish your models. They are getting better with every build. Keep it up mate!
  18. ..yes, 1/144. Nice job. I am watching one on Evil Bay at the moment. I am not holding out hope for it to go for a reasonable price!
  19. Nice result, I am fighting my build at the moment, I think I rushed the engines and have a few seams to attend to Yours looks great
  20. I also made my intent known. So put me down for one, possibly 2. I have a few including Mil-8, Drakken, Blenheim, Mig 15UTI, Mig21F-13, Mig21Bis and twin seater, Bf-109, Pe-2 or F-27 (if I can find some decals for it).
  21. Lovely job Tim I like the weathering and effect of the wash. I wish I could finish a model like that!
  22. Well I started mine this weekend and found a 1960 date stamp on it! I think I will sand away the detail including the moulded on cheatline guides for the original Aer Lingus scheme.
