  1. Fantastic work Cliff, I can hear the whine of the turbo compressor and the whirring of those RR Darts as I type this.
  2. Thanks Mike, Well in our place in Canberra I had a good sized model room and space. We've moved the Adelaide and it is a smaller space. I will need to move things around to make space. Or just box it up and put it in the garage until I want to display it.
  3. Some progress, I added some PE to the gear legs and ladder And found some props from the spares box to prep
  4. Cliff, there would have been a benefit if I had thought about the wing fuselage join a little better, on previous E-3 builds I added spacers in the fuselage at the wing root to reduce/eliminate the gap. I rushed it this time and did not do so and paid the price, Two steps forward, one step back.
  5. I dug through the stash and found the Williams Bros Boeing 247 kit. I am not a fan of either scheme in the kit, the racer or flight test article. I will see if I can find some other decal options on the net.
  6. Slowly getting time on this after another Boomer subject (C-130) has been finished. I tried something different attaching the wings, I added the upper pieces first. It did not work to plan and I made a filling nightmare when one upper wing came off while adding the lower wing. Anyway the wing is attached and the filling and sanding has begun. The engines have been assembled and filling and sanding completed.
  7. I had totally forgotten about the is one, nice to see some progress from 10 years ago!
  8. I certainly do Bosse, I have another 6 unstarted in the stash that will all be built one day. I spent part of today adding etch to the main gear legs, it stuck more to my fingers than to the plastic!
  9. Tom, All versions on the Anigrand kit are inaccurate, the 'update' was cosmetic and did not address the shape issues of the nose or the possession of the wing. The engines are also not good, I suppose I should put everyone out theie misery and finish mine so Kinetic release theirs
  10. Agree Markus, the fist link you posted is mine (I have a build thread here on BM as well), I have been working on it on and off since 2006! I might finish it just before the Kinetic kit hits the shelves
  11. Looks nice Howard, I have built the other option from this boxing (Finnish Air Force) and have another to do in this scheme.
  12. For some reason I see no flags in the country/entrant list, just a 2 letter code for the country. How do I add the 'flag' to my subject title?
  13. Actually number 9 of the current lot in 1/72 . Number 8 was a refurb of a kit for 10SQN and I am also working on number 10 for a friend at the local museum I volunteer at. (I have also built 2 1/144 P-3s).

  15. This is my initial entry to the GB. It is well on its way and has been languishing on the Shelf of Doom for some time. I started it almost 2 years ago and was last touched in September 2022. My aim is to finish it this time around, I have until 17 Jun to complete it as I will be away in Europe when the GB finishes. It will be finished as 140111 as it appeared at a Fincastle competition. I started with this. Made a started the CP-140 mods to the kit and did the cockpit I have completed most of the assembly and am using an Eduard etch set for the wheel wells and exterior It now is at this stage, now to find the rest of the etch set and parts to finish it off!
  16. This is the Italeri kit (Testors boxing) built as an LC-130F of the United States Navy. It represents 148321 which crashed in 1971 at an ice runway 860 miles (1,380 km) from McMurdo Station as a result of two JATO bottles ejecting improperly and striking one of the aircraft's propellers. In 1987 the aircraft was dug out of the snow and had temporary repairs carried out allowing it to be flown out to McMurdo Station and thence to Christchurch, New Zealand. It re-entered service and spent several more seasons doing antarctic work. The aircraft was retired to Davis-Monthan AFB sometime after 1998 and still resides there as far as I know. I used the Cutting Edge ski conversion as well as some scratch building of antennas and the fairing behind the nose wheel well. The flaps are from Attack Squadron and I replaced the engines with units form Ron's Resin. The decals came from the Max Decal sheet.
  17. Great job, no doubt Airfix will now release it
  18. Nice work Steve, the outer control surfaces are 'Elevons' (elevator/ailerons), Mirage IIIs do not have flaps. You are correct the inboard surfaces are Pitch Dampers. And a fun fact for the day, the Mirage III also has a Yaw Damper which is a built in function of the rudder, so no extra control surface required.
  19. Nice to see this one started Cliff, looks like a 748!
  20. Yes indeed Patrice, I have a Tamiya P-51D lined up now. Just sorting a couple of other projects out before starting.
  21. Italeri 1/72 P-51A 154 Recon SQN USAAF, North Africa
