  1. Hello, Some advice please. Currently building 4 of the Airfix 1/72 Spitfire series and I am having problems getting the Red Square gun port decals to bend across the front of the wing, any suggestions or ideas welcome, I am using Decal fix but seems the decals are too stiff. Steve
  2. Thanks Eric, found it. Good Tip, ill give it a try I have plenty to choose from!
  3. Hello to all, Now I am retired I have recently returned to modelling. In preparation for retirement I prepared myself a stash of 125 mainly 1/72 aircraft kit's of all eras and manufacturer and age of kit, they all await their fate over the coming years. I started and completed 6 of the Airfix Spitfire series which I will soon post in the Ready For Inspection thread, I thought it would be a good idea to get my hands and eyes back in on a few modern kit's, oh how my fingers have got fatter over the years! and my eyesight poorer, or have the aircraft shrunk!!!! maybe when I can get on with some of the larger twin and 4 engine kits they will be kinder to me. I have a small selection of 1/72 resin and vacu-form which ive never attempted before, they should be fun when I get around to them! I intend most of them to be OOTB builds, only buying Decals where I need them due to yellowing of existing ones. Displaying of completed models is going to be an issue, I am sure many of us have that problem, I have a 1/72 'Monogram' 'Peacemaker which I took a peak in the box at the other day, that alone if I completed that it would fill my snug! Question: Which of the threads here can we use to ask for help and advice? Ill be needing it. Regards Steve
  4. Hi Richard, so ‘Merlin’ good or bad? Steve
  5. South Shields? im at Bishop Auckland. looking forward to starting some of these, am I sad or do others sometimes just get a kick out of looking at them in the box? Steve
  6. Gorby, i think retirement is going to be initially difficult as I’ve been a very active worker, looking forward to it, however never done it before ha ha. I agree those vacforms and resin kits seem to require additional if not different modelling skills. im sure my skills will increase with every model, I’ll start with some simplar kits and progress with time. advice will certainly be much sought on this forum I’m sure. Steve
  7. Hi Dennis, Thanks for the reply. B36 advertised as the largest plastic model of the time. ill certainly enjoy building them Steve

  9. Good morning, im 58 taken early retirement and bought myself a few models as a job lot, approx 200. before I start on them I was wanting some feed back to see if any are worth keeping as they are , that is in the box, or if any of them are of special interest. Im a new modeller returning to my childhood passion and hope to while away some evenings. Comments welcome. regards Steve where their are two or more photos I have two or more models. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ue1374ovcnfmxtz/AAAdnUoxPC2vBde-kNjn4O2fa?dl=0
