  1. Last question, according to Alan Raven RN escort carriers flight decks were sometimes left bare wood or painted in a dark color (possibly G10), any idea what color Fencers flight deck may have been?
  2. I can see the G5, G45 and B55 but where would B15 fit in?
  3. http://www.modelwarships.com/features/current/Yeovilton-2009/pages/06-02-2009 130.html This is the paint scheme i referred to in my first post. It looks like she's wearing western approach green, and im going to hazard a guess that the dark grey is G10? I can't tell if shes wearing G45 or white however.
  4. Wow, you were right, those anti-shipping operations off of Norway are definitely under recognized. I guess now im stuck in a hard place trying to figure out what ship to model now.
  5. Hello, I recently picked up the Tamiya Bogue class escort carrier. I originally intended to build her as HMS Trumpeter but I wanted a ship that saw more “action” per se, and have decided to build the ship as HMS Fencer. Minus the differing AA and Radar fit, does anyone know what paint scheme she wore during Operation Tungsten? I found a 1/96 scale RC model of Fencer that shows her in what I assume “Western Approaches” camouflage, was this what she wore during Operation Tungsten? Thanks.
  6. Not sure if anyone has mentioned it but the artwork for the box looks amazing.
  7. I'm thinking of picking up Aoshimas HMS Cornwall (which is depicted in her 1942 as sunk configuration) and building/modifying her to represent her sister ship HMS Berwick either at around December of 1940 when she briefly dueled the Admiral Hipper or after her refit in mid 1941 when she briefly wore a unique Mountbatten pink camouflage. Would there be any major differences between the 2 cruisers?
  8. What color(s) did you paint for the underside of the superstructure? I'm building the 1/700 scale version of Colombo and im confused on rather the camouflage extends to the underside of the deck, bridgewings etc?
  9. Currently building Prince of Wales and im wondering if she had her Walrus observation plane embarked during that fateful day. If so does anyone know what camouflage colors the aircraft may be in?
  10. Now about that 48 scale HP Halifax...
  11. Its a good time to be 48 scale Fleet Air Arm enthusiast
