  1. The last model to arrive via post was a Battle Axe short run Albatros DIII. why? I hear you ask.. because I’m a masochist, I answer. 😩 and from my local shop this morning I came home with one piffling little jarlet of Tamiya Deck Tan.
  2. Very good effort !! I’ve had fun with a few of these Camel kits. I have four in a shelf in various guises. Plus four SPADs from the same range, one Fokker DR1, and 8 Fokker DVII s (plus a two seater what if) again In various schemes. The latter model (DVII) needs a great deal of work to correct Revell’s mistakes though.
  3. Yes there’s something quite curious about these little vehicles which draws me to them. They became so battered and beaten yet still trudged on!
  4. Yes these were the ones I found as well, but couldn’t find a local seller. The postal rates from the US do make it rather expensive. But thank you anyway.
  5. Hi BK thank you for your input 😊 however I am concerned about the difference in scale. I compared some 35 and 32 bits I have in various spares boxes, and the difference is very obvious. But I am thinking about doing a 1/32 scale LCP in the future once I locate a suitable donor kit. So I will bear you in mind! Thanks again and take care cheers Andrew
  6. Hi again BK. ooohh I see. I never knew they were called that! yes they look grand. How do you want to proceed? Thanks again
  7. Hi BK well yes and thank you, but would it be possible to send a photo as I am not sure what you mean by artillery spoked wheels?
  8. Hi everyone. Hope you're all surviving. I've been a bit obsessed with WW1 Model T's and all their variants; especially the LCP stripped down versions. I have a couple more builds planned but have run out of spare tyres and wheels. Anyone know where I can buy them if they exist? I found a company in the States who do them but they seemed expensive for 4 wheels. Any advice much appreciated. Cheers Andrew
  9. Ha ha APA whilst you’re there would you pick me up some mascara please? The usual waterproof one. As you know, there can be a lot of crying involved in modelling 😆
  10. Strangely enough I’ve already bought them. Months ago?? 😆
  11. More than likely that MiniArt will release a 1/35 version as they’ve done the bus and lorry. That is If they haven’t already and I missed it?
  12. Ooo, more excited now! (It doesn’t take much, does it?)
  13. Wow Mike thank you so so much for your input. I have been searching for info for some weeks and felt like a dog chasing it’s tail... I will mail you. Thanks again for your very kind reply. I will mail you tout suite. cheers Andrew
  14. Hi everyone. As you may know, I normally restrict my model building to WWI. But, with a sense of nostalgia, I am tackling a Sherman M4A1 which was the tank my late father served in. He was in the Middle East, trailing around northern Iraq (due to some wobbly intel that panzers were reported to be mustering for a flanking attack.. which proved wrong) and then into Egypt. From that area, they were transported to Italy. He was in 2RTR which I believe was part of the 7th armoured division ( feel free to correct me if I’m wrong!) where he and his crew got through the Gothic Line, only to drop a track in a ditch and then be subsequently attacked (one shot, which missed) by three Tigers. They were captured, and spent a pleasant afternoon chatting with the German crews (Wehrmacht, not the nasty ones) swapping cigs and family photos, sharing rations etc etc whilst they waited to be picked up by truck to take them to the holding camp. From there, he was taken to Stalag 11A until liberation. (I knew he had been a POW, but not where! a fact I only found out last week whilst trying to answer my own question!) so. Excuse the waffling, but it may help you answer my questions. I would like to build two versions of Dad’s tank. Mid East and Italy. Any idea on colour schemes, markings, etc? thanks a lot and bless you for taking the time to read this. cheers Andrew
  15. I eventually solved the problem - or rather Michel at Black Lion Decals did - he made me up a set! Well two actually, in case I had a little accident. Well done to him; they look fantastic!! cheers Andrew
  16. Hi Keith. Also been building the lorry; I chose the 3rd variant namely Lancashire Lass; but can you or anyone else tell me what the capital B stands for on the cab side? I’ve looked and looked but cannot find an answer... tia! cheers Andrew
  17. Hi guys yes thanks, I’ve tried Jadar but they’re sold out of the set I need 😩 cheers Andrew
  18. As it turned out, Black Lion had the right package but the wrong decals were inside. Not BL’s fault, rather NPD’s packing error. so if anyone has a set they don’t want or know someone who may do then please pass it on to me😊 thank you ! cheers Andrew
  19. Hi ganevender are you addressing me? If so, then l relied on photos of the original vehicle and then did what l thought looked ok on the interior. As a kerbside model, mine came out ok. But wouldn’t stand up to historical fact! Cheers Andrew
  20. like so many others have said, I’m really and truly enjoying this thread. Your daughter has real talent, and the intimate way you write the thread makes us all feel like we’re there lending a hand 😊 ...how big is the shed? Would we all fit in? Thanks so much for sharing this heart warming and ongoing story with all us model nutters. I’m also a bit jealous as none of my children had any interest at all in modelling! Cheers Andrew
  21. Excellence seems to be your standard. I’m running out of superlatives , so I’ll just say brilliant job! cheers Andrew
  22. That’s fantastic too, Andrew oh crap italics. Too lazy to change it now 😆 l build everything from WWI but I’m very taken with this little chap. Really nice, well done ! cheers Andrew
  23. Andrew S. Hello 😊 that’s a superb job done there! I love the chosen colour scheme, and l will shamelessly copy it! Love it love it love it!! Cheers Andrew
