They all look great indeed, I wish I had like 10 point to divide. Cheers, Nico

It was on sale on Ebay by seller A2ZEE models. I just checked, but he doesn't offer 'm anymore. This seller I can really recommend. Low postage charges and very swift delivery. Nico

Mine arrived just today, it's excellent!! I allready built their DH 5 which was the best Resin kit I had ever seen. Also got a DFW on my stash. Support these Polish kitmakers and buy one, even though you need to go in your pockets deep. Cheers, nico

My suggestion for a groupbuild: A groupbuild which can be joined by almost any subject. Aircraft builders can join with planes with nice pin-ups on 'm. Boatbuilders with a Gallionsfigur, carbuilders can add a nice women's figure, and figure builders can of course ... eat there hart out! I know what I would do! Cheers, Nico

Compliments from me! Cheers, Nico

I make a mixture of Humbrol Dark Earth (29) with black (33) 66% <=> 33%. Sometimes add a little green (116). What comes out with even very little green is a greenish brown. PC 10 can be either more or less brownish depending the sunlight (more sun is more brown) and the stage of war. How further on the more brown. This is what I understood from the discussions. For instance for my Bristol Fighter I did not add any green: But for my Fe2b I did: Cheers, Nico

Fine Molds 1/48 Kawasaki KI 10

Well, It's more or less finished. I took some pic's last evening, but I hope to be able to make some better ones this weekend during daylight. It was a very straightforward build, no problems engaged. Easiest biplane I built since a long time. Cheers, Nico -
Stunning work on that Fokker DVII. Probably one of the best results ever! Cheers, Nico

As far as I know the stripes were still on at the top of the wings during Market Garen. Greetings, Nico

Congratulations mate! Make sure you buy anyting Roden or Eduard next time Nico

Nice to see one of these on this site. I still got one one my stash from Inpact (same mold, I believe this brand released it first). For their age briljant kits. Cheers, nico

Fine Molds 1/48 Kawasaki KI 10
Nico Teunissen replied to Nico Teunissen's topic in Aircraft Interwar
Hello, For rigging I use `Knitting in Elastic´. This stuff can be boughthere: http://www.stitch1knit1.com/acatalog/goldz...nd_crochet.html It sticks very easy with superglue. I sometimes do not even drill a hole, but stick it on it's place with a wet cocktail stick. Cheers, Nico -
I mentioned on an other thread my current build, namely Fine Molds 1/48 scale Kawasaki KI 10 Perry. I am not that much into Japanese aircraft (anymore), but really liked this little biplane. I also decided to do a series of last fighting biplanes. So, an Avia B534, Fiat CR 42 and some more are likely to follow. (not within a fortnight, but in the years to come). Doing biplanes and rigging is of course no problem to me. Today I made some pictures and as can be seen the kit is as good as finished: For colors I used a misture of Humbrol Sky (90) grey (64) and white (34). I painted the whole machine. Simply do not have an airbrush, and it's unlikely I will ever get one. For anyone who wants to do an easy biplane, or a first biplane build, I really really can recommend this very delightful kit. All parts fit very easy. It was fun to build. For the instructions you mostly have to rely on the drawings cause almost everything is in Japanese. Luckily color references are in English. Greetings, Nico

Hello Chris, Greyish aluminium is as far as I know the color these birds should be. My first impression was that yours was actually done as such... Still your choice of color works for me! Cheers, Nico
-
Eh,... The questions was if you became one recently! Cheers, Nico
-
Very nice work! very good choice of color too the greyish alu. Cheers, Nico

Thanks Doug, The very old fashioned method: 0,03 mm fishing line. Cheers, Nico

Hello Derek, I don't have the Karaya kit at home yet, but I built a Karaya kit about 1,5 years ago; the Airco DH5. This was the very best resin kit I have ever built. Very easy too with their metal strengtened struts. Easier to built then a "normal" injection biplane! Their Martinsyde is probably the very same quality. Look here for further information: http://www.karaya.ceti.pl/eng/buzzard.html Cheers, Nico P.s. became a dad recently?

I believe the best refrence would be an Albatros Windsock Datafile. I am quit certain they got one of this aircraft. I ordered a Buzzard in 48 scale from Polish manufacturer Karaya (Resin) this week. Good luck. Cheers, Nico

The 1/28 scale Dr.1 and Camel also date back from the end of the 1950's but are pretty okay. From what I've heard the DVII in this scale is an awfull kit. Completely wrong measurements. Good thing about the DVII is that Eduard is going to do theirs in a weekend edition somwhere this year. That means a very very good DVII for a very nice price. Cheers, Nico

Hello, You got every reason to hate this kit. The original mold comes from Aurora and dates back to 1956! Aurora updated it in the early '70's and after this the mould went to Monogram and ended up at Revell. They also did some improvements. Anyway for modern standards the kit is completely outdated, but I admire what you did with it so far! Cheers, Nico

Hello, I did built one of these Malta Sea Gladiators a few years. Not the Lindberg version (which was originally an Inpact kit), but the one from Roden. I painted it according to Roden's instructions. Unfortunately Roden's decals were very bad. So some decals were taken from the scrap box. As to be seen I left the arrestor hook on. Maybe these pic's are of some assistence. Cheers, Nico

I used some left over strut material from an Aurora Pfalz DIII. I cut them loose and added about 3 mm of this strutmaterial between the landinggear struts. This is the way it worked out on my DIII: (if you look close it's obvious where extra strutmaterial is included; next time I beleive I make a complete new landinggear from Contrail strutmaterial) Plane flown by some hardly known Jasta pilot. Oh yes, I took the wheels from an Eduard Fokker DVII (Alb.)! Cheers, nico

Euh, Straightjacket!? That's making me curious. As far as i know straightjackets they don not make you a better modeller;). Current work is on a Fine Models 48th scale Kawasaki KI 10 Perry. After that one I wana do Roden's 1,5 Strutter. I have a bag of Bobs Buckles still waiting to be used. This Strutter will have 'm on! Already got it about 2 years, but never came round using 'm. I believe the "Knitting in Elastic" stuff will go good along with the buckles. Cheers, Nico
