  1. I know what you man about the Whitley. About to finish one today. They look remarkably the same. I used the original FROG decals. Cheers, Nico
  2. Getting installed again after having moved. Did my first little modelling yesterday since several weeks. Just a bit of applying putty and sansing on my Sopwith 1,5 Stutter 48 scale by Roden. Also had the courage to lift the boxtop of Karaya's Buzzard and have a look. Cheers, Nico
  3. My compliments, anyone finishing a Fonderie kit is among the top builders I beleive. Cheers, Nico
  4. Nice one! Makes me scratch my head, and think when mine will be on! Cheers, Nico (who lives very close to the place the first Dutch person got killed in a aircraft accident)
  5. Aha, Very nice finished example as well. Did a good job, it's not the easiest kit around. Cheers, Nico
  6. I'm "afraid" the origins of this kit date far further back than 1981, 1964 is more likely. Good job so far! Just had a very good look at my 48 scale Roden kit last evening, gonna make a start soon. Cheers, Nico
  7. Hellop, Well hereby a few images of work done so far on this kit: So far all went very smooth. Fuselage halves have been put together by now. Excellent fit. Next will be the radiator. I dryfitted it, but shows bit of fotting problem will need some more attention. Cheers, Nico
  8. My compliments, a real nice result! Cheers, Nico
  9. I don't know about the W4, but turning it into a DII shouldn't be too hard. But, I guess a conversion or even a release by Roden won't have to wait. Cheers, Nico
  10. Nice job! What did you use for the turnbuckles>? And,... shouldn't there be rigging between the inner struts (side view)? Cheers, Nico
  11. Good one! Keep those Camels coming! Cheers, Nico
  12. Compliments! I think that's what they call a Blitzbau! Cheers, Nico
  13. "Par example" yes, but so many more to be considered. I do wonder who on this site decides what G/B going to get started. Cheers, Nico
  14. That ring sure looks the THING! Should get me some of that stuff. Cheers, Nico
  15. Congratulations Chris! Cheers, Nico
  16. Hello, What I know is that the cables on the Horsa were not attached at the front, but at the wings: Hope this picture may give some clearance. Last september I organized a shopwindow at Oosterbeek (near Arnhem, Netherlands). All aircraft involved at the Airborne landings were build. This Horsa had a Stirling in front of it. What I do know about the landings at Arnhem is that the Horsa's were never pulled by British Dakota's but by American versions. I even think British Dakota's didn't have the equipment to pull gliders. British Dakota's did show up at the Arnhem skies, but only for supply. Cheers, Nico
  17. Oh! The DH9 will be availabe too, good news!? I order my Roden kits direclty from a contact from The Ukrain. Means I usually get them a bit later, but that's no problem. What I pay for 'm is about half the price I'd pay in The Netherlands, so that's worth while. I do know the 48 scale, it's somewhere in my stash.. Cheers, Nico
  18. I suppose we're talking about a 1/32 scale version? How come these Roden kits always turn up first in Sweden? Any specials connection between Sweden and the Ukrain? Greetings, Nico
  19. I never could have imagined my Aurora DH4 would be used as a rigging guide! Not that it's wrong (as far as I know). Model on! Cheers, Nico
  20. Hello, I did mine some months ago. I get the feeling your underside color looks more grey. Painted mine aluminium. do different approaches exist? Furhtermore very nice build! Cheers, Nico
  21. Very nice build so far. That Roden kit sure looks a lot better then my Aurora build of a few months ago (but that was for fun) . Got the Roden kit already on my stash and will do theirs within some time. Anyway, I do get a feeling we both got a different approach to PC10. It looks very light to me, or is their more paintwork to be done? Cheers, Nico
  22. In case of another one; I would surely join. Maybe a G/B which is a bit more specific, like Flying Circus fighters, observers, bombers, or aces all WW1 related. Cheers, Nico
  23. Took a good look at that!, Thanks Cheers, NIco
