  1. Thought I'd share a simple video I shot to show the progress I have made on installing micro motors in the nacelles of the Lancaster kit I am building to drive the propellors. <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/154638972@N07/39493405601/in/dateposted-public/" title="25996686_516214388777789_5569905660390277120_n"><img src="https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4732/39493405601_059a1d752d_z.jpg" width="640" height="360" alt="25996686_516214388777789_5569905660390277120_n"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

  3. Hi all, my name is Mike and I'm a modeller..... ooops sorry started thinking I was at and self-help meeting for a minute there, lol... Well I have finally found my way back to kit building after many years in the wilderness having first started modelling when I was about 12-13 and the internet hadn't even been invented so modelling was very much a trial and error/teach- yourself hobby. My rekindled desire was spurred when in the Autumn I rediscovered the partly started Airfix Battle of Britain - 75th Anniversary Set (1:72) boxed up in the attic. This had been gifted to me a couple of years back and I just couldn't find the time or energy it required to put into it. Back in November I dusted off the box and it fired up my interest again and in the weeks leading up to Christmas I invested the time it deserved and learned new skills and methods with the aid of the internet and primarily Youtube as well as brushing up on old ones I thought I had forgotten. That kit is now fully complete and I'm now working on a couple of others including a newly purchased 1:24 Spitfire, a kit akin to the one I first made a poor attempt at as a spotty 15 year old. I'm sure I will be back here regularly to seek advice and have already gleaned some very useful information on how to make modifications to include a miniature motors for propellors. All previous models I've built were simply OOB and brush painted so now with my recently acquired airbrush and compressor I'm hoping to start expanding my knowledge and expertise and get into weathering and other effects.
