  1. Yes - I like the idea of a diorama with the story involved - very compelling!
  2. Fascinating story of a local fellow - loved following the build history and thankful I got to see it up close today! All the best - Rob
  3. Loved seeing your piece at the show today David and briefly meeting you as well. We'll talk again at the next one, Cheers - Rob
  4. Looks great! The scheme is quite attractive and you've done a nice job of it. I think I have the same kit but marketed under the name Entex - I built mine as a Dutch one. Always nice to see another Canuk here on the pages - are you going to Heritagecon? Cheers - Rob
  5. Very cool projects - I think the more one delves into what that generation did the more extraordinary it seems. “The past is never dead. It's not even past.” ― William Faulkner
  6. Stunning work! Thanks for sharing and displaying what is possible in scale modeling.
  7. Ya, he trained pilots as part of BACTP as well at Malton airport. Unfortunately he died in 1944 at Gander in a crash of a B-25, long before I came on the scene. My Grandmother gave me his artifacts and such, so it's a wealth of family history. Do you have "Ocean Bridge" U of T press? Fascinating read.
  8. Hi David - yes, I'll have a few pieces in the show - some aviation and real space work. Closer to the show maybe we could figure out a meeting spot - would be fun to chat. I like the fact you build RCAF pieces from the war era. My Grandfather was a TCA pilot before serving with Ferry Command - his is an interesting story. Take care - Rob
  9. Another cool project! Will be watching with interest. Will you make it to Heritagecon this year? Cheers - ret
  10. I may have missed it earlier, but will you display as a diorama? This is looking really nice and you've done an amazing job! Would be neat to see it on the tables at a local show (Heritagecon?).
  11. Great to see more real space work here - very nicely done and very effective work on the Apollo!
  12. Wow! - that's a real beauty - I love the subtle shading you've achieved on the white areas and the dull-shiney effect on the silver. Really nice.
  13. Great work on this - the windows are looking amazing! I find Liquid Decal film works just fine - although sometimes if I apply too much it can streak. I'm enjoying the journey both here and with the Hurricane - look forward to seeing the completion. Cheers - ret
  14. The London show will be the bigger and probably more attended show - also not as far to go. It will, as well, have more vendors. I should be going with a few pieces. Cheers - ret
  15. The decals look about right - you can clearly see them on the Apollo 15 photo and on others as well. I'm curious - do you coat them with anything - on larger builds I've done I'm never quite sure how to protect the decals on either BMF or silver paint.
