  1. Another Dassault delta, this time Heller's Mirage IVP. No doubt one of the best looking aeroplanes of its era, it's quite a straight forward kit and gows together quite easily. It's finished the markings of L'Armee de L'Air unit 1/91 "Gascogne" based at Mont-de-Marsan in 1995. I used the RAF Dark Sea Grey and Dark Green from Hataka's red range. The decals weren't great, due to age I suspect. Anyway, here it is.
  2. My latest in a series of Dassault deltas. This is Kinetic's Mirage IIIE. Not the easiest kit I've built. By trying to make as many versions available as possible, the kit's engineering is quite complicated, especially in the fuselage/nose/air intake area. Anyway, with some brute force, lots of glue, some filler and a smattering of profanities, it went together. Finished as a Mirage IIIEE of ALA 11 of the Ejercito del Aire, I used Hataka RAF Ocean Grey and RLM 80 Dark green with Vallejo Aluminium undersides.
  3. Thanks Roger and a Happy New Year to you too.
  4. In 2020 I built more than I bought so I guess a net reduction. A fairly varied selection with my usual flitting between types and scales. Anyway here they are. 5. I remember the Esci kit. I think I built it as a Canadian one. Easiest paint job I suppose. Thanks for taking the time to comment folks. Very much appreciated. Now onto the Kinetic kit.
  6. Thanks for taking the time to comment folks. Very much appreciated, Now should I add a Rafale C or M?
  7. Quite an old kit and not particularly easy either. Fit was tricky in places and the decals were a bit of a nightmare. Still, here it is. z20201223_211724 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201223_211736 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201223_211744 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201223_211755 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201223_211813 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201223_211821 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr
  8. A model I've wanted to build for ages. Hasegawa's F-104G finished with Caracal decals as NASA N826NA. Lovely kit to build and decals were excellent too. Note to self, leave the wings off until after decalling. z20201223_211707 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201223_211704 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201223_211655 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201223_211646 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201223_211636 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201223_211625 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr
  9. Here's your picture of that very model. Elliot Vac-form was it 430 North American RB-45C Tornado -5856 Elliot VAC 72 02 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr
  10. Cheers folks The finish was Vallejo Aluminium mostly with patches of Vallejo Steel.
  11. My latest effort. The kit itself is very good but the decals were a bit tired and reluctant to leave their backing paper so I had to source another set from ebay. The markings are for a Pakistan AF F-104A from the Iliad Design sheet. Nice decals and went on very well. z20201215_110228 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201215_110219 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201215_110202 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201215_110150 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201215_110141 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr
  12. Thanks for the comments folks. Much appreciated.
  13. This was a bit of a challenge and it hasn't turned out great but frankly better than expected. Interesting aeroplane though. It used more filler than glue in places and required a lot of weight to keep it in its wheels. Sprayed in Vallejo acrylics and using a Caracal decal sheet, here it is. z20201205_164755 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201205_164806 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201205_164814 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201205_164826 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr
  14. Thanks for the comments folks. Much appeciated. The kit was pretty straightfowrd to build no problems at all. Accuracy-wise, I have no idea. Here's bonus photo of my almost complete Thunderbids in 1/48 (minus an F-105) 20201120_150619 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr
  15. Completing my Thunderbirds collection in 1/48, here is the Hobbyboss F-84F Thunderstreak. Not bad at all, typical of modern kits. Finished with the Warbirds decal sheet which was not without a few bits cracking and failing to adhere well. The decal sheet was designed for the Kinetic kit which meant the fit wasn't perfect in places. Anyway, here it is. z20201117_201044 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201117_201025 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201117_201016 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201117_201004 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr
  16. I bought this old kit at Telford last year during a fit of nostalgia. I had built it many years ago as a IIIC and my intention was to build it as a two seater. However I found the fuselage was so badly warped in so many directions I could not get it finished. I ended up taking my very old build and refurbishing using parts from the "newer" kit. Anyway, here it is, finished in Vallejo Aluminium and Faded PRU Blue on the top. Decals from various sources. z20201116_194332 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201116_194342 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201116_194346 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201116_194403 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr Here with the Eduard IIIC I built a year or two ago. z20201116_194422 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr
  17. An attempt at a very old kit. Typical of old Airfix a bit clunky in parts and there is something odd about shape of the nose. Finished in Hataka acrylics with decals from Model Alliance in the markings of XZ451 of 700A NAS. z20201116_194536 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201116_194517 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201116_194508 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201116_194502 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr
  18. Thanks for commenting folks. Much appreciated. Worth all the bad language that was a major part of the rigging!
  19. This is one that been a loft dweller for a very long time (nearly 50 years possibly). Not the easiest kit I've ever built but there aren't too many parts to deal with. Brushed painted in a mix of Xtracolor, Revell and Humbrol paints. Decals from the spares box as the kit examples were beyond recovery. z20201026_100432 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201026_192430 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201026_192448 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201026_192451 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201026_192513 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr
  20. The venerable 1/48 scale Airfix Buccaneer kit with all that that entails. The fit is a bit iffy in places but with a bit of work and a lot of filler it turns out OK. Painted with Hataka Red line acrylics in the kit markings of XX900 of 208Sqn. z20201009_195357 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201009_195219 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201009_195159 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201009_195150 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr
  21. My attempt at the Academy 1/48 Hunter F.6. Nice kit overall, the only awkward thing being the undersized pilot's seat that I replaced with a proper scale one. Finished in Hataka Red line acrylics in the markings of XK149 of 79Sqn at RAF Brawdy in the late 1970s. From Xtradecal sheet 48-189. z20201009_195342 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201009_195322 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201009_195303 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20201009_195254 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr
  22. Not the easiest kit I've ever stuck together. It's a little over engineered in places. Finished in Vallejo acrylics and with the kit decals which were very good. z20200913_225152 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20200913_225141 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20200913_225131 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20200913_225124 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr
  23. My latest in a line of aerobatic team builds. This Hasegawa's Skyhawk and finished straight out of the box. Sprayed in Vallejo Deep Sky and also has my first attempt with Pledge floor polish as a gloss coat. It seems to work very well. z20200913_225247 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20200913_225222 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20200913_225213 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr z20200913_225206 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr
