  1. I don’t understand why AirCast would bring back the LiftHere! U-3B when their own U-3B is so much better. The LiftHere! kit is a travesty by comparison.
  2. Asking for a friend who is interested in possibly scratchbuilding a 1/48 or 1/32 model.
  3. Incredibly slow here in North Texas as of 1500 Zulu.
  4. I have station number drawings for the 727-200 if they will help. Send me a PM with your email address.
  5. For those involved in this project, authentic Boeing company model drawings are available here: http://aviationarchives.blogspot.com/2015/11/boeing-display-model-drawings.html
  6. I was told by a USAF pilot some years ago that the engines in the MiG-23 were a scaled-up development of a smaller engine having 4 main bearings. But the larger engine also had 4 main bearings, too few. So in anything other than moderate maneuvers, the shafts tended to bind, causing engine flame-out if not catastrophic failure. No idea if that was the case in this accident.
  7. They were seen laser scanning a P-40 during the recent IPMS-USA national convention.
  8. He also does an Andover C.1. And his web page is very slow to load, but he also has a Facebook page. His kits are produced to order, but the turnaround time for my orders was surprisingly short. And the parts arrive in a variety of colors! He has stated that he sometimes has difficulty obtaining resin in neutral colors. All in all, a source of unusual subjects in a variety of scales, which with a little effort can result in some unique models. (I speak as a satisfied customer with no financial interest in his business.)
  9. I have his Lockheed Electra and HS 748, both 1/72. He may have upgraded his printer, as the 748, a newer kit, seems to have a smoother surface. Nevertheless, a coat or two of Mr. Surfacer results in a smooth surface.
  10. OneManModel does both a 3D printed Andover and HS748. http://one-man-model.main.jp
  11. Howdy from Dallas-Fort Worth! 🤠
  12. An excellent build, however when comparing the side view of the model with the side view of the prototype, it appears the model’s forward landing gear is much too short.
  13. See here: http://www.theworldwars.net/resources/file.php?r=camo_usar#ww2
  14. Not a modeling question (unless your Airfix kit ices up), but I recently read that, although the Vulcan’s fin had ducts for hot air anti-icing, the operating manual called for fin anti-icing to be inoperative at all times. Why was this? It makes no sense. Was there simply not the capacity of the system to de-ice the fin as well as the wings?
  15. Many aircraft had footsteps built in to the fuselage on the port side only.
  16. Howdy! I’m in the DFW metroplex myself!
