  1. Currently reading The Churchill factor by Boris Johnson. A fantastically interesting read, Boris is a really excellent writer.
  2. Sad news. I remember buying Marquee Moon just on the basis of a glowing review in NME - I wasn't disappointed. RIP Tom.
  3. A legend in the modelling world, no doubt. RIP.
  4. Decline and Fall by Evelyn Waugh - brilliant.
  5. Thanks Bertie, very kind. I'll put in on the shelf in my hobby room, although it's getting a bit crowded.
  6. Craft knife Wet and dry Tweezers Fine file set Small spring clamps. And they still look like rubbish! 🤣
  7. Thanks everyone. Although my modelling skills obviously aren't up to much, I think it worthy subject that is not seen often.
  8. One of the old Huma kits I picked up at the boot sale. Not built a glider before but a nice easy kit (how I like them) that went together reasonably well and came with a myriad of different transfers for different models including quite a few Mistels that I knew nothing of. Up to my usual low standard, a bit wonky, but quite an enjoyable kit. I post it here as nobody else seems interested, understandably. 😉
  9. Cheers Rick. You obviously have more confidence in my abilities than I have! 😅 I have put the lot up on the sales area and would like to sell them trade for something WWII RAF. Not too much of a Luftwaffe bloke to be honest.
  10. Thanks for that SD, some really interesting info there! Not surprised the Fruitbat is not great "find" TBH. Ordinary plastic models are my limit so vac formed and resin is right out of my wheelhouse. 😲
  11. Somebody gave a me a pile of magazines that included The Aeroplane and some guitar mags which I have enjoyed, also "Secret projects of the third Reich". I really tried with the Luftwaffe ones - but they are so boring. 🙄 Can't complain for free though.
  12. Couldn't agree more. The cover artwork is always superb. Some very interesting stuff in there and good projects. Loads of home made cars etc too.
  13. Not sad. I've got my family. Three sons and grandchildren, that's enough for me.
  14. Picked up a whole batch of old US mags from 1948/49 with a couple of '60's motor mags (my favourites) thrown into the mix. Fascinating reading about brand new and possibly futuristic subjects like in flight refuelling, computers etc etc. along with some great photographs and text. The many ads are absolutely charming too. I'm working my way through them!
  15. I had a couple of my own businesses and made enough to retire at 50. Couldn't wait, miss no one.
  16. Thanks for that Markus! Not interested in ebay TBH so I'll probably just put my stuff up for trade on here for some kits that are a bit easier for me!
  17. Thanks for that @Sabrejet Google brought up nothing. Great to have some real expert advice on here. Any idea as to value?
  18. Thanks Giorgio, I found Airmodel but am still stumped by "Fruitbat productions". 😲
  19. A couple more purchased today - the last he had! They are both vac-forms which are really beyond my capabilities but I got them hoping for some trades or sale for the lot with the Huma and Pegasus stuff. Todays are an Airmodel Me 262 V1 and a Fruitbat Focke Wulf TA 183. Manged to find Airmodel on Kingkit but Fruitbat seem to be non existent! I'm sure somebody on here will know about these, perhaps you could enlighten me? Value? Thanks in advance.
